Roseanne Barr doesn't want to be the villain anymore!

A source close to the disgraced sitcom star said she is "seriously considering" forgoing any profits from a potential Roseanne spinoff because she feels so bad for getting the show canceled with her racist Ambien tweeting.

As we've reported, ABC has been toying with the idea of a spinoff that focuses on another family member in hopes of salvaging the ratings powerhouse without its controversial star.

Many critics rejected this idea, however, noting that creator Roseanne would still profit from the Roseanne-less reboot. For that reason, former showrunner Whitney Cummings even said this new version would be "a bad move."

But it looks like Ro really does feel bad about making the cast and crew lose their jobs — because she's now apparently open to cutting herself out of the spinoff completely!

A source close to the actress says she's "hunkered down" with her parents in Utah at the moment and just wants to help the people who suffered at the hands of her sometimes racist fingers, dishing:

Get ready for Darlene, y'all!!!!!

ABC execs are inches away from greenlighting a second reboot of Roseanne after connecting with Tom Werner, who produced the sitcom through his company Carsey-Werner, over the weekend to kick negotiations into high gear.

Sources familiar with the situation told TMZ that Werner spoke with top network suits to move forward with a Roseanne spinoff without its leading lady and reluctant Ambien spokesperson, Roseanne Barr.

Insiders say the network is working out last-minute details, which mostly revolve around Roseanne. While the network had a solid cause to fire the comedian as both the star and executive producer, it might be contractually obligated to pay her a fee or back end for her involvement in creating the show.

Of course, ABC could always argue it's a different show entirely. The potential spinoff has been speculated to focus on

In between posting self-pitying apology tweets and retweeting right-leaning supporters on how unfair her show's cancellation was, Ro-Ro revealed she made a desperate plea to Ben Sherwood hoping that the Disney/ABC Television Group President would allow her to "make amends" for her racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett.

ABC Might Air Roseanne Spinoff — With A Big Twist!

no title

After Roseanne's racist tweets got her show canceled, many felt it was unfair to punish the rest of the cast and crew, not to mention fans of the hit sitcom.

Jimmy Kimmel, for instance, suggested killing the titular character off Two And A Half Men style and just calling the show Dan.

But could the supporting cast of Roseanne really come back for a spinoff without their hate-spewing matriarch?

The problem is Roseanne created the show and has co-creator credit for the other characters — meaning even if she's not on the show, she's making money off it.

But according to EW's sources, ABC may have another option — use all the supporting cast and writers (whom they already have to pay for another season) in a brand new show!

A sitcom with Laurie Metcalf, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Sarah Chalke, and no racism? Sounds like something all of America could get behind!

See what that might just look like (below)!

Roseanne Reboot Tackles Dan's Death, Right-Wing Politics, & Gender Fluidity — And Twitter Is DIVIDED! Recap Here!

no title

ABC's Roseanne reboot premiered Tuesday night, and boy, are the people divided!

While the Conners' old, beaten down couch is the same, the members of America's favorite blue collar family has grown: Roseanne is now a Trump-supporting grandma! Darlene has a gender fluid kid! Dan isn't dead!

Though many fell under the spell of network nostalgia, a number of Twitics just couldn't get past the title character's political beliefs. But defenders argued that Roseanne refreshingly showed a family on both sides of the political spectrum — which we saw in the premiere, as Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) and Roseanne have been divided ever since the election.

Echoing the opinions of the woman who plays her, Roseanne voted for Trump because he talked about jobs "on the real news." Jackie, on the other hand, was so freaked out by her fights with her sister, she ended up voting for Jill Stein instead of Hillary Clinton!

Pushing politics aside, (which Twitter could NOT do — but we'll get to that in a minute) a lot happened in the two-episode premiere. Becky (Lecy Goranson) is back and hoping to become a surrogate for a woman named Andrea (Sarah Chalke, AKA Becky 2).

Darlene (Sara Gilbert) told everyone she came home to take care of her parents, but really she's

That is, until we learned CBS's frontrunner to play the young Sheldon Cooper was none other than our favorite little Tony Awards red carpet correspondent, Iain Armitage!

The rising star will reportedly take over the role from Jim Parsons, who won FOUR Emmys playing the neurotic math genius.
