As we mentioned earlier this month, Katy Perry was spotted rocking some pinkish hair out in Los Angeles.

Now, find out from the celebrity colorist who colored her hair, Rita Hazan, just what the process entailed.

In a recent interview, Hazan reveals that Katy wanted a “huge change” and was feeling the lavender color.

Rita adds:

“Going from black to a lighter shade is a major process. You have to strip the black from the hair and go in phases of color in order to keep hair healthy. And in each phase, the color has to look the best it can for the time you wear it.”

As for the new hair color, Katy loves it. Rita continues:

“Katy loves her color! She is so happy that she went through all the pain of stripping – having red and blonde hair – to get to her favorite color lavender.”

Seems like Katy Perry isn’t the only one sporting some colorful hair.

Sienna Miller, along with her beau Tom Sturridge and mother, arrived this morning in Ibiza with the blonde beauty rocking some pink highlights.

While Katy went fully pink/lavender with her hair color, Sienna opted to just color some strands of hair.

Overall, it's an OK look. We're not loving or hating it.
