Jude Law Joins Robert Pattinson In Queen Of The Desert

Werner Herzog's Queen of the Desert — a biopic about English writer Gertrude Bell — just got added another beautiful British face to the growing A-list cast.

Jude Law will be joining Robert Pattinson and Naomi Watts in the drama that chronicles Bell's life as a traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century.

At this point, we don't know what role we'll see Law in and if any other big names will climb aboard. Based on who is involved so far though, we wouldn't be surprised to see more major stars get cast before the film is shot in Morocco this March.

Robert Pattinson Snags Another Indie Movie Role In Queen Of The Night

Cosmopolis has definitely helped launch Robert Pattinson's foray into big boy movie roles!

The recently single hottie has best been known for his role as Edward in the Twilight franchise up until this point, but we have a feeling that is all about to change.

R-Patz has been cast in Werner Herzog's upcoming indie film Queen Of The Night, in which he'll play T.E. Lawrence — the British Army officer who is the subject of the 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia.

He'll be acting alongside

Peter O'Toole Retires From Acting After 60 Years In The Biz

Peter Otoole retires from acting

Eight-time Academy Award nominee and Honorary Oscar recipient Peter O'Toole has announced he's retiring from acting after almost 60 years in the business!

The 79-year-old, who is best known for his iconic role in Lawrence of Arabia, released a statement on the matter that reads:

"It is time for me to chuck in the sponge. To retire from films and stage. The heart for it has gone out of me: it won't come back. My professional acting life, stage and screen, has brought me public support, emotional fulfillment and material comfort…. However, it's my belief that one should decide for oneself when it is time to end one's stay. So I bid the profession a dry-eyed and profoundly grateful farewell."

And we're grateful for your contributions to the entertainment world too, sir!

We imagine many actors would be thrilled to have a career lasting just a third of his and, quite frankly, we're pretty amazed he's been performing as long as he has. If you've ever seen 2006's Venus, then you'd know he never lost his touch either.

Fans will be sad to see him go, but at least they have 92 titles to choose from if they ever want to watch his work again.

The Mummy/Glory Screenwriter Kevin Jarre Passes Away

screenwriter kevin jarre passes away

Hollywood has lost a very talented screenwriter WAY before his time.

Screenwriter Kevin Jarre has passed away at 56-years-old from unexpected heart failure.

Jarre's screenwriting credits include Tombstone and Glory. He was also a co-writer/executive producer on Stephen Sommers' The Mummy.

Kevin Jarre's adoptive father was legendary Lawrence of Arabia/Ghost composer Maurice Jarre, who passed away two years ago.

Our thoughts go out to Jarre's family, friends, and peers during this very difficult time.

To this day, Glory is still shown in history classrooms. Kevin's work will be remembered.
