Mona Lisa's Rotting Corpse Throws Us A Frickin' Bone!

Mona Lisa Remains Possibly Found

This is some real life Indiana Jones shiz!!

Italian archaeologists found the bones of a long-dead Fiorentini beneath an abandoned nunnery!

While the name Lisa Gherardini doesn't mean much to you or us, she certainly meant a lot to one famous Renaissance man!

Lisa G. is the woman who inspired Leonardo's most renowned piece of art!

We know what you're thinking, "wait, wasn't that Kate Winslet??"

No, silly. Not the Leonardo from Titanic.

We're talking Leonardo Da Vinci — the man, the legend, the ninja turtle!

Lisa Gheradini is the woman who inspired the Mona Lisa — you know, that super famous painting hanging in le Louvre!!

So we dug up her grave and found her bones!! Sweeeet!!

Sadly, her eyebrows are still MIA.

Have Researchers Found The Woman Who Modeled For Mona Lisa???

researchers looking for woman who was mona lisa model

So…the Mona Lisa ISN'T a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci's "male lover"???

On Tuesday, Italian researchers began the process of locating the remains of Lisa Gherardini, a woman who MAY have been the model for the Mona Lisa.

According to a recently found death certificate, Gherardini died on July 15, 1542 and was buried in the Convent of St. Ursula in central Florence.

Art Historian Silvano Vinceti, who's heading up this project, says that they'll begin digging at the convent later this month.

Exciting stuff! Would def be cool if they were able to figure out the identity of the Mona Lisa once and for all.

Do U think Lisa Gherardini could be the Mona Lisa? Or do U still think it's Leo's "male lover"?

New Hidden Messages Found In Da Vinci's Mona Lisa!

symbols found in mona lisas eyes

Last month, we reported that Nicolas Cage Members of Italy's National Committee for Cultural Heritage had found letters and numbers in the Mona Lisa's eyes, which could only be seen by magnifying high resolution images of the painting.

Now, Italian researcher Silvan Vinceti says he's found a letter "S" in Mona Lisa's left eye, and an "L" in her right eye. He also says he's found a number "72" under the "arched bridge in the backdrop" of the painting.

According to Vinceti, the symbols he found are "very small, painted with a tiny brush and subjected to the wear and tear of time."

So what do these symbols mean?

Vinceti believes the "S" could refer to the woman who ruled Milan during the Sforza dynasty, where Leonardo da Vinci spent time between 1482-1499 and 1506-1507.

As far as the "L" is concerned, Vinceti says it stands for "Leonardo."

With regards to "72," Vinceti claims it's a pertinent symbol from Kabbalah and Christianity. He says the "7" has lots of symbolic associations such as creation of the world, and he says the "2" could refer to the duality of male and female.

Are U aware of this, Dan Brown? You've totally got the beginnings of another Da Vinci Code book here, bb!

What do U think these symbols mean?
