Brian Williams Won't Be On Nightly News Anymore — But It Sounds Like The Anchor Is Set To Move To MSNBC!
In February, Brian Williams was suspended from his position as anchor on NBC's Nightly News after he was caught fabricating stories to viewers.
Lester Holt, who has been temporarily filling in as anchor in the interim, will take over the position permanently.
So, where does that leave his fibbing predecessor? It's been reported that Williams will assume a different role in the NBC family — and that new job could very well be at MSNBC!
This move would make sense for NBCUniversal, who is the parent company of the cable-news network. Williams could be just the ticket to boost the ratings of MSNBC, who has fallen behind competing channels Fox News and CNN.
Both NBC News and Williams' attorney declined to comment on the 56-year-old's new role, but an official announcement is expected to be released as early as Thursday!
We think this is a great move for the news station. Holt has been holding his own in the Nightly News ratings, while keeping Williams in the NBC family as an anchor will prevent any litigious vengeance!
Will YOU watch Williams on MSNBC?
