If you wanted the definition of a tragically sad story that can also be heartwarming, well, this is it.
An ailing 8-year-old PA girl had a wish of hers granted — she wanted to witness/participate in a huge holiday singalong. Delaney Brown, (known as Laney) of West Reading, had a rare form of leukemia, so the community not only granted her wish (and in a BIG way), but they also held fundraisers to help with the cost of her medical expenses.
Unfortunately, Delaney passed away on Christmas morning… but not before her wish came true.
THOUSANDS of Christmas carolers showed up outside her home over the weekend! They sang all of the usual holiday songs, and also sang Happy Birthday for little Delaney, as she just turned 8 on Friday.
Our hearts are broken over this, and all of our thoughts and prayers are going to her family and friends. She sounded like the most wonderful little girl.
Kelly Melton is 7-years-old, and he's battling leukemia. A lot of his time is spent in the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital — which isn't too far from where Nerlens Noel plays college basketball!
It turns out, Nerlens is actually pretty good… as he's poised to go from college player to number one pick in this June's NBA draft!
He also has time for Kelly, and adorably invited him to go along to the famous Kentucky Derby, where they ran the red carpet like pros!
The best moment, though, was captured for Twitter (above)! That's Nerlens lifting Kelly over rising rain water so he doesn't get all wet!
We bet Kelly had the best day ever! What an amazing guy Nerlens is!
The more we hear about Macklemore, the Macklemore we love him! LOLz!
While he was playing a show in Burlington, Mack heard from the friend of young man (a junior in college) who has been diagnosed with leukemia. Things have been rough for Sam, and his friend thought a visit from Mack would brighten his spirits!
Well guess what: Macklemore showed up and hung out with Sam, and took some pictures!
That's SUCH a nice gesture… but that's not the end of it! Mack went home and wrote about his experience with Sam, and posted it on his website! Here's what he had to say about what it meant to him:
Cameron Lyle is a senior at the University of New Hampshire, and just decided to end his own athletics career in favor of donating his bone marrow to a man with leukemia! That's so incredible!
Cam focusing primarily on shot put, the team encouraged players his sophomore year to join the bone marrow registry — so he did! Two years later, they've told him he's a match… which is super rare to be a match with anyone outside of your own family!
It may have taken over a year, but Kevin McGuire FINALLY got his wish!
You may remember the then-18-year-old leukemia survivor's story from February of 2012, as his sister set up a Facebookpage to invite Taylor Swift to join him at his prom!
Although the country cutie couldn't make the date, she instead offered to bring him as her date to the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, which he initially accepted…but by April, he couldn't go because of a fever brought on by his chemotherapy!
Thankfully, that didn't stop T-Swizzle from keeping him in her thoughts, and he was FINALLY able to get that date with his idol after she made sure to invite he and his family to this year's ceremony!
Ch-ch-check out the picture of the pair together right beforehand (above)!
