Gloria Allred files to dismiss lawsuit against her

Before Gloria Allred begins to battle John Travolta and Marty Singer in court on behalf of her masseur clients, she's got to clear her own name.

The famed attorney has filed legal documents to dismiss a lawsuit from her clients' former lawyer, Okoria Okorocha, who is suing because he thinks Gloria stole John Doe #2, a.k.a. John "Casey" Truesdale.

She filed the motion on Tuesday and hopes that sworn declarations from herself and the client she allegedly stole will be enough for a judge to dismiss Okorocha's case. A source defending Allred told sources:

Cheryl Cole Suing UK Tabloid Now Over False 'Dating' Story!

cheryl cole suing uk magazine

Now magazine shouldn't have f***ed with Chezzal!

Last month, Cheryl Cole publicly (and angrily) announced that she NEVER dated So Solid Crew rapper MC Harvey (above, right), despite a story that he sold to the UK tabloid.

Now, she's filed a lawsuit against the editors of Now for libel…and given the fact that Harvey has admitted that they never dated, we have a feeling she's got a solid case here!

She's ALSO suing the editors for a follow-up story that they published, and she's demanding that Now's parent company Ipc Media be "banned from repeating the affair allegations."

We fully support Cheryl here, and we hope that she's properly compensated for everything she's had to go through!

Pay up and get UR act together, Now! U should have never listened to MC Harvey!

Biiiiiiiiig mistake!

Britney Spears' Mom Lynne To Testify In Libel And Defamation Lawsuit

Even though Britney won't have to appear in court, her mother Lynne Spears has been ordered by a judge to testify in the libel and defamation lawsuit that Sam Lufti filed against Britney and her parents.

To refresh your memory, Britney's former manager, Lufti, is suing the Spears family for defamation, libel, and slander after Lynne wrote the book Through the Storm, which discussed his role in Britney's life before her public meltdown in 2008.

Like we said, due to her conservatorship, the judge has shot down Lufti's requests to get Britney to appear in court.

Her mother, however,

New Edition Star Sued Over Twitter Comments!

Johnny Gill Twitter 2

We wonder if he'll have a solid argument!

Johnny Gill was recently sued by a record producer who claimed that the New Edition star damaged her reputation by writing on Twitter that she leaked one of his songs onto the internet!

However, he's claiming that this is bull shiz, because people shouldn't be allowed to sue over the social networking site!

He claims:

"The courtrooms would be filled with a bunch of Twitter people complaining about things people say every day…It's freedom of speech."

That's true - but if she didn't do it and you published that she did, then that's libel, Sir!

We suppose we'll see how the courts feel!

What do U think?? Is he right?

Brit Brit Won't Have To Appear In Court With Sam Lufti!

brit-brit-wont-have-to-appear-in-court-with-sam-lufti

Although her former manager, Sam Lufti, had been attempting to force Britney Spears to give a deposition on his behalf in his lawsuit against her parents for breach of contract, defamation, and libel, the pop star will NOT have to, nor will she have to appear at the trial for testimony!

According to a letter from her attorney, Joel Boxer:

"While I am of course willing to engage in further dialogue with you concerning this topic, the record is clear: Plaintiff noticed Ms. Spears deposition, pursuant to the order of April 27, 2011 issued by Judge Goetz, the Co-Conservators may not produce her (Britney Spears) for deposition or trial testimony in the Lutfi litigation. Based on the findings of Judge Goetz — grounded in three years of supervision over the Conservatorship and the Conservatee as well as the recent report from an expert selected by the Court….. the Co-Conservators respectfully submit that Plaintiff's motion for an IME (independent medical exam) of Ms. Spears should be denied."

Furthermore, Boxer is asking the court to impose sanctions on Lufti and award attorney's fees - $9300 - to the conservatorship!

However, it's still unclear as to whether or not Brit will have to be evaluated by an independent psychiatrist, and a hearing has been set for June 15th to determine what to do!

Good! She shouldn't have to go anywhere near that creep!

Here's hoping that they she won't have to!

Courtney Love Getting Sued Over Twitter AGAIN!

courtney love in twitter lawsuit again

Here we go…

Last month, Courtney Love paid out $430,000 in a settlement for a Twitter-based defamation lawsuit with fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir.

Then, Courtney returned to Twitter and went back to her old, controversial ways, making some nasty digs against Chelsea Handler's beau Andre Balazs.

NOW, Courtney has gotten into Twitter trouble again for speaking out against former lawyer Rhonda Holmes from San Diego-based firm Gordon & Holmes.

The lawyer claims that Love libeled her over Twitter when she said that Holmes sold her out in a battle over money owed to Kurt Cobain's estate.

Here is the tweet that got Courtney into NEW trouble:

"I was f–king devastated when Rhonda J Holmes Esq of San Diego was bought off…"

Holmes is claiming that the remarks "have damaged her credibility and hurt her firm's business" and she's seeking unspecified damages.

Of course, Courtney has since canceled her Twitter account once again.

Let Courtney Love's tale of Twitter woe be a lesson to us all! Once it's out there on the Internet, you can't take it back.

What do U think about this lawsuit? Should Courtney pay up for her words tweet?
