Michael Douglas And Matt Damon Will Be Kissing In Liberace Bio-Pic!

matt-damon-and-michael-douglas-play-gay-lovers-in-liberace

Oh man! First Leonardo DiCaprio and now THEM?!

How delightfully HOMOlicious!

Although Steven Soderbergh recently revealed that he's retiring from the industry, he still has two films to finish before he's done - Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring George Clooney, and then a bio-pic about the life of Liberace - which was announced a few years back, but is apparently now ready to go into production, with both Michael Douglas cast as the legandary showman and Matt Damon as his young love-ah!

And yeah, they'll be getting FREAKY together!

Matt revealed:

"It's scripted that there's more than one. I never thought I would get to kiss Michael Douglas."

And Michael later continued:

"I just saw Matt…and I was teasing him. I was saying, 'Bring a lot of ChapStick, babe.'"

Oh em gee! LOLz! This is amazing!

Not only do we imagine it's going to be EPIC, as it's Soderbergh's last film, this is just seksi helluva of bonus for the gays!

Thanks, guys! We can't wait!

Steven Soderbergh To Retire From Filmmaking

steven-soderbergh-to-quit-filmmaking.jpg

Say it ain't so!

Director Steven Soderbergh says he's quitting filmmaking.

After he finishes his next two movies, Liberace, starring Michael Douglas, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring George Clooney, Soderbergh says he will be moving on.

When asked why he wants to leave films behind, Soderbergh responded:

"It's just time. When you reach the point where you're like if I have to get into a van to do another scout I'm just going to shoot myself, it's time to let somebody else who's still excited about getting in the van, get in the van.

For the last three years I've been turning down everything that comes my way. You're not gonna have Steven Soderbergh to kick around anymore."

Wow, sounds like some bitter grapes. The guy has made many popular films including the Ocean's Eleven series and Erin Brockovich so we hate to see him go…but it seems like he just doesn't have the passion for it anymore.

Oh well. Let's hope he changes his mind.

So Much For Ocean's Fourteen! Steven Soderbergh Retiring

steven soderbergh to retire from filmmaking

But, where will we go for understated comedic performances by Matt Damon and George Clooney???

After his upcoming thriller Contagion and a couple of other projects, director Steven Soderbergh plans to retire.

Here's what Matt Damon had to say about his frequent collaborator's decision to leave the filmmaking game:

"He's retiring, he's been talking about it for years and it's getting closer.

He wants to paint and he says he’s still young enough to have another career. He’s kind of exhausted with everything that interested him in terms of form. He’s not interested in telling stories. Cinema interested him in terms of form and that’s it. He says, 'If I see another over-the-shoulder shot, I’m going to blow my brains out.'

After this movie we’re doing Liberace next summer with Michael Douglas, and then he might do one more movie after that with George [Clooney], and then after that he’s retiring."

An unexpected career move, but it's def important to follow your passion.

And who knows? Maybe after five or ten years of painting, Steven will return to us to make another mainstream film with Sasha Grey.

Lots of luck, bb!

R.I.P.

Although it's been open for over 30 years, Las Vegas' Liberace Museum is closing on October 17th.

A total of 31 employees will be let go, but it was not a complete surprise.

Liberace Foundation Board of Directors Chair Jeffrey Koep said:

“This is a pretty straightforward business decision that’s basically been a long time coming. The biggest thing to the board is the human beings affected, that we are going to have to get rid of our employees. … But also, we recognize what Liberace meant to the history of Las Vegas, and that makes this very difficult and sad for us.”

Visitation has been low and now they have to pay the price.

Sad.
