The Hamilton Cast Refuses To Use Prop Guns During Their 2016 Tony Awards Performance Following The Orlando Nightclub Tragedy — Watch Here

Following his poignant sonnet, Lin-Manuel Miranda is making another strong statement about the Orlando massacre at this year's Tony Awards.

After two incredible introductions — from President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and then Common — the Broadway star took the stage alongside his Hamilton castmates to perform a couple big numbers from their hit show.

Following a brief bit from Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story, the talented performers segued into Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down).

But, they shared a moving message during the second song.

While performing the tune about the Battle of Yorktown, the actors refused to use prop guns in the wake of the disastrous shooting at the gay nightclub in Florida that claimed the lives of at least 50 people and injured over 50 more.

The moment the cast stood on the stage, posing without weapons, was an incredibly powerful part of this amazing performance.

This was a truly emotional moment.

On Sunday, Lin-Manuel Miranda received the Tony Award for Best Original Score for his hit musical, Hamilton. But when he took the stage to give his acceptance speech, he delivered a powerful sonnet about the terrible tragedy that has rocked Orlando.

Admitting that he was "too old" to do another freestyle, the Broadway star instead delivered a tear-filled sonnet, in which he expressed his grief and sadness over the senseless shooting at PULSE nightclub that killed at least 50 people and injured over 50 more.

The In The Heights songsmith choked up honoring the victims of the horrific attack on the LGBT community, passionately repeating:

"Love is love."

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Hamilton!

They didn't throw away their shot!

On Monday, the Alexander Hamilton-inspired production received this year's Pulitzer Prize for Drama!

This is an even bigger deal when you take into account only nine musicals have ever won the award over plays. The most recent ones to claim the prize were Next to Normal in 2010 and then all the way back to Rent in 1996!

And, Lin Manuel-Miranda's show received this rare recognition on the 100th anniversary of the awards, which celebrate impressive work in the arts and journalism.

Nice!

We're so proud of the cast and crew, and are SURE this is a good sign for Hamilton's chances at the 70th Annual Tony Awards later this year!

The comedienne began by complimenting the incredible artist's popular work, but also wanted to show him the female-focused version she's come up with… and it's all about Betsy Ross!

It turns out that the skit came about because the funny lady's sister, Kim Caramele, is a little obsessed with Hamilton and listens to the music constantly! Amy admitted to Entertainment Weekly:

"It's actually a problem. She'll put the soundtrack on at any, sometimes inappropriate time."

Kim, who is also a producer on the Comedy Central show, was honestly surprised that the amazing actor agreed to participate, saying:

"He said yes and I thought he was kidding. He couldn't have been nicer and more game. He has so few hours free! I was so grateful he was there."
