We guess that NO ONE can escape the wrath of lip-synching accusations on the internet!

Beyoncé faced it after her rendition of the National Anthem at the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama, and now, Mariah Carey has come under fire for her performance medley of her biggest hits on American Idol's 12th season finale last night!

And it was NOT pretty!

After Twitter essentially EXPLODED with criticism over what some viewers perceived to be bad lip-synching, as her voice did not always appear to match the audio during the live feed, the diva's representative quickly issued a statement that DENIES any wrongdoing on her client's part!

In fact, while Mimi DID sing along to a pre-recorded track, as many artists regularly do, her rep is adamant that she "performed with a 40-person choir" and "SANG LIVE."

Beyoncé had to sing the national anthem in CHIILLZ weather… for the PRESIDENT and (basically) the WHOLE WORLD at the 2013 Inauguration.

So naturally… gurl took some precaution!

And according to a close source, it seems an apology won't be happening anytime soon! Cuz in her mind, what's the big effing deal!?!

An insider close to the whole scandal swears by it, saying:

"She didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story. Everybody uses these tracks, and the music director advised it. Any big outdoor live performance is almost always with some kind of track."

You know we LOVE IT when performers take huge risks — and singing 100% live in that kind of weather would definitely be considered one — but Bey still brought it!

It was reportedly confirmed that Beyonce did indeed lip synch the national anthem at Obama's inauguration on Monday.

But now it seems like someone's in MAJOR trouble as the Marine Corps have backed off their previous statement which notified the nation of Bey's supposed pre-recorded voice track.

Spokesman Capt. Gregory Wolf says:

But it seems Jay-Z's wife wasn't being 100% honest up on that podium, as she apprently LIP SYNCHED her entire performance using a previous recording of herself singing the tune!

And yes, it is normal for musicians to pre-record something for SUCH a momentous televised occasion, but isn't it kind of a shame that she acted as if she were singing in real time?!
