Rooney Mara Supports The Costume Designers

Even though the press tour is over, Rooney Mara is still repping Lisabeth Salander on the red carpet.

On Tuesday night the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills wearing an eggplant-colored J Mendel dress and matching lipstick.

The dark look works on Rooney, but it would be really nice to see some variety. Maybe she's waiting until Sunday to knock us off or feet.

Rooney Mara got back to the grind on Tuesday night promoting The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in Paris.

For the City of Light premiere, Lisabeth Salander donned a little black embellished dress by Louis Vuitton.

This is such an effortlessly chic look and Rooney wears it really well, but we're dying to see this girl in some color. Are U???

Dragon Tattoo Drama! David Fincher Changes The Film's Ending!

david fincher changes dragon tattoo ending

MAYBE it will be a good thing. Just look at The Mist! Stephen King said himself he LOVED that new ending!

Whether or not director David Fincher's new ending to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is awesome, there is def going to be controversy over his decision to mess around with writer Stieg Larsson's vision.

Here's what Fincher had to say about the Dragon Tattoo script vs. the novel:

"The script, which captures the novel's bleak tone, was written by Academy Award winner Steven Zaillian, who wrote Schindler's List, and it departs rather dramatically from the book. Blomkvist is less promiscuous, Salander is more aggressive, and, most notably, the ending — the resolution of the drama — has been completely changed."

"This may be sacrilege to some, but Zaillian has improved on Larsson — the script's ending is more interesting."

Hmm….we're thinking hardcore Dragon Tattoo fans will be unhappy with this news, but at least they've got a talented screenwriter on board. It'd be hard to argue TOO MUCH with the guy who wrote Schindler's List.

Guess we'll see how this plays out. We'd imagine even the haters might go see this movie, just to hate see for themselves.

Thoughts???

Rooney Mara Covers Vanity Fair W

rooney-mara-w-magazine-cover-february-2011.jpg rooney-mara-w-magazine-february-2011-1.jpg

One magazine's trash, is another magazine's treasure and that's exactly what happened with W's February issue.

Back in December executives of The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo were talking with Vanity Fair about doing a cover shoot with the film's star Rooney Mara.

The catch: they'd have to use Jean-Baptiste Mondino as the photographer.

A rep at VF explained:

"[Producer] Scott Rudin wanted to use their own set photographer, Mondino, to take the shots. We like Mondino’s work, but said no way — that we would only use our own photographer. So they went with W."

And this is what they ended up with, Rooney styled as her character Lisbeth Salander.

There's also a report that Vanity Fair snubbed Rooney a second time by putting the movie's original star Noomi Rapace on their Young Hollywood issue that's out in March.

Ouch.
