Ssion is one of the most consistently awesome artists working today! He's a musician and a visiual artist and someone bringing the underground and queer movements to the mainstream.
He's a bit like a male Peaches!
If you like '80s synth sounds and the Pet Shop Boys, then you will LOVE his song My Love Grows In The Dark!
We wouldn't be surprised if Laura Mvula is nominated for a bunch of Grammy Awards next year! She makes the kind of music the Recording Academy loves to honor!
She is very much in the mold of Norah Jones and Adele!
And if you like either of those two artists, you will very much like Laura Mvula! The Brit is very much like them - with a good dose of Nina Simone influence as well.
We love her!
Check out her GORGEOUS - and 6 minute long - Can't Live With The World (above)!
The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.
Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:
"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."
That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:
"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."
She added:
"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."
Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...
As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
