Disney sure has been on a live action kick lately.
Between Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and so many others, we're just completely bombarded with the company's plans to transform our beloved 2-D animated princesses into living, breathing, actual people.
But their latest real-life remake doesn't center on a tiara-toting damsel.
Instead, the studio is going to bring an oldie but goodie to life: Fantasia! However, their focus isn't on the entire movie as a whole, but rather only one of the eight musical sequences from their third animated feature.
The movie will take Night on Bald Mountain from an 11-minute chunk to a full film to tell the story of a dark, winged creature who raises spirits from the dead.
The project has enlisted writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless — whose past works include horror and mystery movies — to pen the script.
We're unsure if the two will make the creepy figure from the sequence out to be a good guy or a bad one, and no release date has been announced just yet.
But, if it's anything at all like the scene from the iconic 1940 flick, it could shape up to be a touch scarier than some of Disney's other remakes have been.
Ch-ch-check out the full sequence from Fantasia (below)!
