Some new confusing statistics were recently released that showed the 2012 London Olympics didn't actually bring in a huge number of tourists.

That's kinda surprising.

The Office for National Statistics said that 3 million people came to Britain during August… 5% fewer than last year!

That must've been scary and probably pretty painful.

Cuban pole vaulter, Lazaro Borges, was halfway into his vault, flinging himself upwards, when his pole suddenly snapped into three pieces!

He's lucky he still landed on the mat!

That's right, while you were catching some Z's, Team USA and all the other athletes were fighting their hearts out in London!

Sports were played, battles were won and lost, and medals were given out.

So… who got those medals?

Team USA sure got a whole bunch of 'em!

So many that we now have the most medals overall!!!

We now lead China in overall medals 81 to 77, though they have more golds (36 over our 34).

Russia has slipped past Team GB to hold third most with 52 total.

So, who won Team USA all those medals??

It seems like more and more keeps happening each day in the Olympics!

The Summer Games are still going strong and Team USA is doing its best to catch up to China in overall medals.

China has 73 total (34 gold) while we have 70 total (30 gold).

Team GB is now battling it out with Russia, as they both have 48 total medals. Though Team GB does have 22 gold and Russia has only 10.

The medal counts seem like they're growing exponentially!

Who's adding all these medals to our count?

Australian Women's Swimming Team Reads 50 Shades of Grey To Relax!

australia womens swimming team reading 50 shades of grey

How does the Australian Olympic women's swimming team stay nice and relaxed between competitions?

By reading 50 Shades of Grey of course!

Nothing like an erotic novel to keep you nice and relaxed. LOLz!

The gold winning girls, Alicia Coutts, Cate Campbell, Brittany Elmslie and Melanie Schlanger, are all reading and discussing the book.

Alicia Coutts said:

"Most of the swimming girls are reading Fifty Shades of Grey. We're all talking about it. Everyone has been talking about it. My manager said just forget about the sex bits and it's actually a really good story. I've found it really interesting. I can't put it down."

Maybe there's something to that?

We wonder if other teams are going to have it as required reading now… LOLz!
