The claws are out in the battle between Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Louboutin.
As you'll recall, Louboutin filed a lawsuit against YSL last month after he discovered they were making their own shoes with red soles.
The French shoe designer even took it a step further by claiming he was the first ever to do the red sole thing, but now YSL is calling bullshit and they have proof!
In court papers filed in NYC, the fashion house said:
"Red outsoles are a commonly used ornamental design feature in footwear, dating as far back as the red shoes worn by King Louis XIV in the 1600s and the ruby red shoes that carried Dorothy home in The Wizard of Oz."
YSL also called Louboutin's trademark application a big crock of you know what for claiming to have exclusive use of the red sole:
"As an industry leader who has devoted his entire professional life to women's footwear, Mr Louboutin either knew or should have known about some or all of the dozens of footwear models that rendered his sworn statement false."
We can't wait to hear Christian's response.
