She truly has a heart of gold…

Since Friday, Louisiana has experienced horrendous flooding that has killed 11 citizens and has damaged around 40,000 homes. Although 30,000 people have been rescued from submerged homes and vehicles, the state is still undergoing a major crisis.

On Tuesday, Taylor Swift announced she is donating $1 million to Louisiana flood relief after she visited the state last year on tour.

The Shake It Off singer said in a statement:

"We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking."

According to Gov. John Bel Edwards' office, more than 60,000 people have registered for disaster aid.

Even with her generous donation, Swift urges everyone in the world to contribute what they can.

"I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time."

Our thoughts and prayers are with Louisiana during this difficult time.

UPDATE 6:32 P.M. ET: According to reports from CNN, the shooter has been identified as 29-year-old Gavin Long. It is unclear still if police are looking for a second and/or third shooter, as they had previously believed there to be on Sunday morning.

Also, President Barack Obama condemned the murders on Sunday, speaking from the White House:

"We as a nation have to be loud and clear that nothing justifies violence against law enforcement. Attacks on police are an attack on all of us and the rule of law that makes society possible."

He had previously called the attacks a "cowardly and reprehensible assault."

This is horrifying — and these things are happening way too often.

At least seven police officers have been shot, and at least three of those are dead, after a man opened fire on the cops in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Sunday morning, according to reports.

Police received a call this morning of a "suspicious person" walking down a Baton Rouge road with an "assault rifle," and when officers arrived on the scene, the man apparently opened fire.

The officers who haven't been killed — apparently, that's four wounded — are all in critical condition in the hospital, according to sources.

Kip Holden, the mayor of East Baton Rouge Parish, said on Sunday that the scene was still very much active, telling reporters:

When will enough be enough?

As you've surely heard by now, Alton Sterling became the latest victim of police brutality early Tuesday morning when he was shot at least five times by Louisiana cops.

The 37-year-old was selling CDs outside of a convenience store in Baton Rouge when two officers responded to a call at around 12:35 a.m. that a man matching Alton's description was threatening others with a gun.

However, video surfaced later on Tuesday that seemingly showed just how violently the two officers treated Alton before fatally shooting the father-of-five in the back after he was already pinned down with his hands restrained.

Thankfully, Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards is not going to let another senseless murder simply pass by unnoticed.

In a statement Wednesday morning, John announced that the Department of Justice will officially be investigating the latest case of the Black Lives Matter movement, saying:

They have also been charged with attempted murder, for seriously wounding Chris Few, Mardis' father.

Police Shoot And Kill 6-Year-Old During Car Chase

no title

How does this even happen??

A 6-year-old boy was killed in Louisiana on Tuesday after police opened fire during a car chase, pursuing a vehicle in which the boy was riding.

According to reports, Jeremy Mardis was in the car with his father Chris Few behind the wheel. Few was allegedly trying to evade city marshals who were trying to serve him with a warrant.

Investigators believe Marksville police pursued the vehicle into a dead end, and Few backed into the police car. That's when the cops opened fire.
