Lily Allen's vintage store Lucy In Disguise is doing just fine, despite British newspapers reporting bad business has forced her to close the store in Covent Garden.
"Our Covent Garden space was a nine month pop-up store that helped us successfully launch the Lucy in Disguise concept and this current move was always part of our plan. Lucy in Disguise is pleased to announce we have a new store. As we develop this exciting new space on 48 Lexington Street which will open in August, we are able to welcome our customers to our pop-up store just around the corner at 3 Lowndes Court."
And just in case anyone wants to say otherwise, Lily tweeted this lovely little message:
"If any other publication wants to write deliberately misleading articles about Lucy in Disguise , feel free, I WILL sue you."
We finally got a good look at Lily Allen and sister Sarah Owen's vintage-inspired Lucy in Disguise collection and they actually designed a lot of cute pieces.
Lily and Sarah debuted their line last week at Harvey Nichols department store where it will be sold starting June 6th.
On Wednesday night, Lily Allen and her sister Sarah Owen debuted their new Lucy In Disguise ready to wear collection at Harvey Nichols department store.
Like their store of the same name, Lily and Sarah's LID collection is all vintage-inspired. Her sister told Teen Vogue earlier this year their vintage finds for the store was their inspiration:
"Through months of buying for the shop, we came across so many 'if-only' pieces. If only this was in a nicer material, or if only this had an embellishment here. We saw so many things that were nearly on the money, and we thought that with a bit of updating and tweaking, we could create the perfect vintage-inspired outfit. That, and we came across some things that were so brilliant, it was a shame to have only one of them in one size."
But just because they're "vintage-inspired" doesn't mean they're cheap. Bold print dresses start in the mid $200s.
To hype up her new store Lucy In Disguise, Lily Allen and sister Sarah Owen have made a short film of models playing and parading around in vintage clothing.
The full film makes its debut on September 18th, but Silly has released a video of what all went down behind the scenes.
Check out all the vintage fabulousness in the clip, above!
To coincide with the new store, Lily Allen and sister Sarah Owen have launched a new website for their vintage shop Lucy in Disguise.
The site features a video that plays in the background that shows some boob and a blog where shoppers can check out the newest inventory the Lucy's acquired.
Lily Allen must really believe the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" because that's exactly what she's doing at her vintage shop Lucy In Disguise.
The formerly hard pAArtying sometimes singer told Elle UK that she'll be selling some of her unwanted shiz as a way to promote "a less throw-away shopping culture".
She explained: "It’s not ethical to do that, so I’m quite happy to turn it into a business and see other people having enjoyment out of it."
Sure it's a great idea, but who would want to wear anything that she's worn!? There's no telling where they've been!
