The Nashville Zoo has a new temporary addition on its hands!
The zoo welcomed a female baby Eurasian Lynx on May 4th!!!
And the funny thing was - the zoo wasn't sure the baby's mom was even pregnant until she actually gave birth! Lolz!
Here's what the zoo's director said:

Sad….a proud species is slowly fading away…
The Scottish wildcat, one of the last remnants of native cats in Britain, is a scary few months away from extinction. Scientists expect there are fewer than 35 purebreds out in the wild.

Check out these foxy ladies…er…lynx-y ladies!
A trio of European lynx babes, all female, are roaming the grounds of the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in England.
And they looks absolutely FANTABULOUS!
Born blind and helpless in June, the kittens are now able to venture out on their own.
Check out one of the cutiez (above) to see one of Europe's largest and rarest predators in action!

Oh.Em.GEE!!! This lynx kitten is just too precious!
The Montreal Biodome welcome the little one at the end of the May and it opened its eyes for the first time this week.
So you know what that means! This cutie is looking to explore!
Lynx are mostly solitary and they are hunted for their pelts due to their thickness and insulation.
Thankfully, no one's getting their pawsx on this one besides its mama!

The lynx seems to be relocating.
Beginning in February the World Wildlife Foundation will be bringing some of the Lynx population in Estonia over to Poland.
The Lynx population in Poland has been decreasing due to hunting and habitat loss which have reduced their numbers to around only 200!
The Eurasian lynx is now listed on the Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. This means that they are not threatened with extinction at the moment, but will be unless trade is controlled.
Pawel Sredzinski of the WWF explained, "the lynx's survival is at stake in Poland. With the transfer of animals from Estonia, we hope to repopulate the forests and prevent the species from extinction in the country."
We don't want any animals to become extinct. Let's work to help them all!
