See Ya Later, Brave! Ted And Magic Mike Top The Box Office This Weekend!

We pretty much expected this, given yesterday's numbers, but it's still VERY IMPRESSIVE!

While the box office has been pretty dominated over the course of last month with children's fare, such as Brave and Madagascar 3, it was the raunchy R-rated Ted and its equally inappropriate, g-string laden partner-in-crime, Magic Mike, which took in the number one and two spots this weekend!

The Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis flick from Seth MacFarlane earned itself $54.1 million at 3,239 screens the past three days, which puts it behind The Hangover Part II and Sex & The City as the third-best debut for an R-rated comedy ever!

Meanwhile, Channing Tatum's ass brought started out on its opening day with $19.4 million, and managed to bump that all the way to a number two box office spot with $39.2 million!

AH-mazing!

Especially since NEITHER of these were predicted to be huge smashes!

Guess a little advertising and a LOT of male nudity go a LONG way! Ha!

And that's not all!

It also got bested by ANOTHER cartoon - one that has been out for two weeks!

That's right, Disney and Pixar's Brave won the weekend box office, taking in $66.7 million between Friday and today, and beating out Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, which had previously held the number one spot since its premiere!

Meanwhile, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was stuck in the third place spot, making under $20 million for its opening weekend, although according to reports, that's pretty much exactly what the production assumed it would be raking in!

Can't say we're too shocked, ourselves!

We're delighted to see that parents are bringing their kids to movies this summer with not only beautiful visual effects, but such a touching and inspiring story!

Congrats, Disney and Pixar!

It was a fierce box office battle, but ultimately, it was those animated animal friends that took the crown!

While Prometheus started out on top, making $21.4 million on Friday alone, it was Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, that came in number one this weekend as predicted, making about $60 million while Ridley Scott's Alien prequel came in second with $50!

But at the end of the day, both movies came up winners, because ticket sales

Jessica Chastain Is Simply Chic At The Madagascar 3 Premiere

jessica-chastain-madagascar3-premiere.jpg

Jessica Chastain was in New York City last night for the premiere of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.

The redhead kept things simple in a vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress with a black belt, a gold Aurelie Bidermann cuff and YSL peep toe ankle strap pumps.

This look pales in comparison to what she wore to the Cannes premiere, but it's still very chic.
