Don't worry, gamers. Even though the NFL just made an agreement a couple days ago to end the months-long lockout, EA Games promises that their popular Madden football game will be up-to-date for the 2011-2012 season.
Madden NFL 12 is scheduled to be released in a month, but it takes several months before a video game is finalized. Fans have been wondering if they'll be playing with out-of-date rosters from before the NFL deal was settled.
Director of Marketing Anthony Stevenson said:
"From the game's standpoint, what everyone wants to know is rosters. You're taking what historically would be five months of offseason activity and you're condensing it into what would be as little as two to three weeks. So, there are going to be a lot of roster moves. And these aren't inconsequential moves: There's Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb; these are moves that could shape a division. But we're fortunate that we're able to flip the switch on roster updates pretty easily."
Players with an internet connection will be able to easily update their rosters with frequent updates and patches that will be available all season long. So, don't fret, NFL fans! You're still going to get all the players you want.
