Nadine Coyle Wants To Become A Country Singer?!

nadine-coyle-wants-to-become-a-country-singer-in-usa

Seriously?

This is an AWFUL idea! We hope it's not true!

Nadine Coyle, whose solo album, Insatiable, is suffering from weak sales in the UK, is now allegedly attempting to break into the American music scene as a COUNTRY SINGER!

A source reveals:

'Nadine's refusing to give up on her dream. She reckons she'll have more chance in the States, where talent and singing ability count. Her life's in America now and she'd happily never return to the UK after such a hostile reception.'

First the Tesco deal and now THIS?!

Give the album more time before you completely change trajectories like that, bb!

We just DON'T see country music as your forte!

What do U think?? Should Nadine go country or should she keep focusing on pop music??

Is Chezza Officially Signed On For American X Factor??

cheryl-cole-reportedly-signs-deal-to-judge-american-x-factor

We hope this is true!

There's been much speculation regarding Cheryl Cole's involvement in the American version of the X Factor, and although we're going to have to wait to find out for sure during Simon Cowell's big announcement in the upcoming weeks, sources are reporting that the Girls Aloud singer signed an almost $5 million deal over the weekend to join the reality competition's new stateside addition as a judge!

A source reveals:

‘When Cheryl goes to America she will also launch her music career there too. It’s the next part of her big plan, she’s an incredibly hard worker and she will definitely get a boost by appearing on the X Factor, which is set to be a sure-fire hit.’

Excellent! We cannot WAIT for her to break into US mainstream!

She's going to be HUGE over here! We can tell!

Congratulations, bb! Hopefully we'll see you stateside soon enough!

Kings Of Leon Turned Down Glee!

Oh, whatever, boys!

You guys sold out segued shamelessly into mainstream with Only By The Night, don't act like you're so 'above' popular culture now!

Kings Of Leon's frontman Caleb Folowill revealed that he and the band rejected opportunities for their music to be performed on Glee, as well as Ugly Betty (R.I.P.) and various movie trailers!

He says:

"We had some people call us up wanting to know if we'd allow Use Somebody to appear in the trailer for their next movie, and we turned them down. Next day, they called back and tried to put us through to the star of the movie — I won't name names, but he's an incredibly famous actor — to let him try and convince us to agree to do it. I was like, 'Man, don't even waste your energy'."

Oh, wow! You guys are sooooo cool!

BARF.

We sincerely hope they aren't going to take the MGMT and M.I.A. route and shit all over all of their fans, because they'd rather be nonconformist and 'above' mainstream instead of focusing on making decent music!

So lame!

Thoughts??

More Obnoxious Babble From MGMT

Filed under: Icky Icky PooMusic Minute

Indie rokkers MGMT are talking useless shiz again about how they can't be defined as mainstream or indie, because they're just that original!

Ben Goldwasser says:

"I think people have this attitude that something's either pop or it's pretentious art, or it's mainstream or it's indie, there's no middle ground, and I think we're trying to go somewhere in between that. We feel like it should be taken as an album and not a collection of singles. We don't want to be associated with concept albums and art rock or any of that, it's bullshit to us.

What I was saying was sarcastic, 'If you're expecting 'Kids' or 'Time to Pretend' or whatever, sorry, you're not going to get that on this album,' and to interpret that as a genuine apology is really stupid. We are absolutely dead serious about music-making, and that's what we want people to understand, that there's no joke in it. We're not intentionally trying to fuck with people, we're actually making this music that we love and we want people to hear it."

Yeah, ooooook.

Nobody cares about how different or mainstream your music is, they just care how good it is.

However, acting like you're so above it all isn't going to win you over any new fans!

MGMT Ostracizes Fanbase Because They Don't Want To Be Mainstream

Filed under: Icky Icky PooMusic MinuteColdplayLady GaGa

wenn5254783jb.jpg

Bad attitude, guys!!

MGMT is apparently FAR too hipster for pop music and as a response to the massive success of their first album, Oracular Spectacular, decided to poo-poo the tunes that made them relevant on their second record, Congratulations!

We think experimenting with your sound is totally acceptable if it's for creative growth and not just because you don't like that your fanbase is mainstream!

They also turned down the opportunity to tour with some big names just so they can be "different"!

Bandmember Andrew Van Wyngarden says:

"We've recently been offered support slots with a ton of big bands. Really huge, enormous, big bands - Like Lady GaGa and U2 and Coldplay and Foo Fighters. And we turned them all down. We really didn't want to do any of that. I think on some level Congratulations is a reaction to the success of the first one. I mean, of course we were happy and felt lucky that stuff happened, but it wasn't really what we were shooting for. I think a lot of people misinterpreted and misunderstood what we were about."

Ben Martin Goldwasser agrees:

"Well, we really do feel like we were blown out of proportion by everybody. We don't feel like pop stars, we feel like a rock band. We don't want to play arenas. It's not our mission."

There's nothing wrong with playing in arenas to a bunch of people who want to listen to your music.
