Major League Baseball has some of the most intensive drug testing in the world of professional sports.

And it's about to get even more intense.

Starting in 2013, the MLB is going to test each player by drawing all of their blood and holding it overnight. If they die, they're juicing up.

JK! LOLz! We totally had you going.

What they're actually doing is starting in-season testing for human growth hormone (HGH).

The Dodgers have kicked off their season with a phenomenal record, but now the new owners can finally start rejoicing because the $2 billion deal is officially CLOSED!

Magic Johnson is now the public face of the major league ball club with Mark Walter running things behind the scenes while Stan Kasten serves as CEO.

“The Dodgers emerge from the Chapter 11 reorganization process having achieved its objective of maximizing the value of the Dodgers through a successful Plan of Reorganization, under which all claims will be paid. The Dodgers move forward with confidence — in a strong financial position; as a premier Major League Baseball franchise; and as an integral part of and representative of the Los Angeles community.”

Former owner Frank McCourt, who drove the team into bankruptcy, didn't make out too bad either. He reportedly made about a billion bucks through the deal and still got to maintain some ownership of the stadium's parking lot.

One would think all this financial turmoil would have affected the team's game, but they are better than ever. Matt Kemp and the rest of the Dodgers crew are #1 in the National League West!

Keep up the good work, guys! Playoffs are a LONG way off!

The Yankees have the highest payroll in Major League Baseball, but co-owner Hal Steinbrenner wants to start shaving down in order to meet the new threshold for the luxury tax as stated in the league's most recent collective bargaining agreement.

Currently, the team's payroll is $210 million (holy smokes!) thanks to buying up talented free agents like Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter and CC Sabathia. Starting in 2014, teams with payrolls exceeding $189 million (instead of the current $179 million) will have to pay

Among the bidders for the Dodger is Jared Kushner, New York real estate mogul and man who apparently wants a taste of L.A.!

Not only does he own the New York Observer, he would end up being Major League Baseball's youngest owner at 31!

Only 9 bids made it to the second round, and Jared's was one of them — and a lot of the money is coming from his own and his family's pocket!

The crazy part is that the team is supposedly going to fetch anywhere between $1.5 and $2 BILLION dollars, so those have to be some pret-ty deep pockets!

Wow!

We wonder who will win!

National League MVP Ryan Braun, a Milwaukee Brewer who was accused of using performance enhancing drugs after testing positive for a banned substance, is in the clear.

An investigation into the charges revealed that the substance he tested positive for was NOT from a performance enhancing drug, but rather a medication he's using for private medical use.

Sources have said, "The medication contained banned substances resulting in the positive test."

The Major League Baseball player's ailment isn't being publicized, which is fine by us, but it must have been diagnosed relatively recently because sources confirm he's always tested negative for banned substances.

This is definitely good news for the sport of baseball! It would be a shame for yet ANOTHER tremendously talented athlete to be caught using performance enhancing drugs to up his game.

30 days of house arrest!

That's a little harsh, don't ya think? Ha!

After being found guilty of felony obstruction in April because he lied to a jury during a 2003 federal investigation of steroid use in the MLB, Barry Bonds has to stay home for a month.

Hopefully the judge remembered to take away his video games and ESPN subscription too so Barry has time to really think about what he's done.

The home run king will also be on probation for 2 years and has to pay a $4,000 fine, but we're sure that was pretty easily covered by the cash he was carrying in his wallet.

Once again, a famous person has avoided serving any time in prison for committing a crime you're supposed to go to prison for.

In Bonds' case, federal sentencing guidelines recommend between 15 and 21 months in the slammer. Apparently, however, guidelines are a lot like laws and are meant to be broken.

We're not quite sure if this case was even worth the judge and jury's time or the taxpayers' money, but hopefully Barry finally learned a valuable lesson that most kids learn by kindergarten — don't tell lies!

Baseball Wives: the newest show to try and cash in on insane wives of rich or famous or sports players. Unfortunately, its debut ran into pretty low numbers. We're talking only 600,000 total viewers.

But that's not the only dramz going on, as one of the wives has left the show — Erika Monroe Williams!
