Violence against women is a worldwide battle, but some victims are still being taught to cover up instead of speak out.
A Moroccan state television channel has issued an apology after airing a makeup tutorial giving women tips to "camouflage traces of violence."
The controversial segment was broadcast last Wednesday on channel 2M's Sabahiyat, which featured makeup artist Lilia Mouline demonstrating how to conceal traces of domestic violence on a woman whose face looked severely beaten!

Before recommending the best products for covering up bruises and black eyes, the host said:
"Make sure to use loose powder to fix the makeup, so if you have to work throughout the day, the bruises don't show."
Yes, this is happening on television in 2016.
Unsurprisingly, the country was outraged by the segment, and responded with a petition calling for the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication to take action against 2M for promoting
