Fine, maybe not 'guaranteed,' but your chances of getting bitten by a mosquito carrying malaria skyrockets if you have stanky-ass feet!
WASH YOUR SOCKS! Science says so! LOLz!

This is FANTASTIC news!
A new, experimental, vaccine for the most deadly strains (if not all) of malaria is showing early promise — which is such a great thing.
In animals, the vaccine stopped Plasmodium falciparum, the parasite that is responsible for 9 out of 10 malaria deaths!
Apparently the achilles heel of the parasite is a protein called RH5. Blocking this protein stops it from latching onto the host's cells.
If the safety tests go well, we could be seeing clinical tests in two to three years… which means we might have a vaccine readily available within the decade!!
Good luck to everyone involved, this is major!

Researchers in the United Kingdom believe they have pinpointed the "Achilles' Heel" of malaria, a mosquito born disease that kills one child in Africa every 45 seconds.
Since the disease is spread by a parasite that invades human red blood cells, scientists believe they can create a vaccine to block the infection by focusing on a red blood cell receptor essential for malaria to develop.
Although there is no vaccine yet, experts are calling the discovery a "breakthrough" that has the potential to wipe malaria off of the planet.
Check out the video above for all the details on the science that may finally end of the world's deadliest diseases!

At least, that's what a report supported by the World Health Organization says.
Advances in medicine and increased funding has already cut malaria deaths in 43 countries by 38%, which is leading researchers to believe that MORE funding could bring deaths down to near zero by the end of 2015.
The WHO said the world can stop malaria deaths by 2015 if massive investment is made to ramp up control measures.
Robert Newman, director of WHO's global malaria programme, said in a statement:
"The results of the past decade exceed what anyone could have predicted and prove that malaria control is working."
Figures from the World Health Organization suggest the number of worldwide malaria deaths dropped to 781,000 in 2009 from nearly a million in 2000.
Whether or not Malaria deaths can actually disappear completely by 2015, it's exciting to hear that there is a definite decline. We hope WHO gets the funding it needs to continue that trend!

Cheryl Cole has been reportedly dating Derek Hough since her divorce from husband Ashley last year, and despite sticking together through the singer's HOrrific bout of malaria over the summer, the pair have apparently called it quits!
A source reveals:
'Cheryl told Derek it was over. Breaking up with him was particularly cruel because he stood by her through her divorce last year and her nasty bout of malaria. He can't help feeling that she used him to get publicity in Hollywood. But Cheryl is incredibly ambitious – and gorgeous. I would not be surprised if she winds up with an A-lister, and soon.'
We can't blame him for being hurt!
But he should have known better than date someone on the rebound - those relationships NEVER end well!
Here's hoping you two can work past the pain and still eventually be friends again!
