The more we learn, the stranger this gets!
Manti Te'o is the college football star who was the victim (we think) in an elaborate hoax to make him think he had an online girlfriend.
What's come out so far is that his girlfriend who "died" didn't die at all and wasn't even a girl!
It was a DUDE!!
The man thought to be behind the huge Manti Te'o lover hoax has been a LOT closer to Manti than everyone previously thought!
We're talkin' HUGGING close! WTF!
A source has obtained footage showing Manti hugging Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, and it appears that Manti is super reluctant to even do it! The thing is, though, Manti is under the impression that
Manti Te'o wants the world to know that he DID lie his pants off, but not for very long, and that he's sorry and still the victim of a hoax.
We are waaaaaay less sympathetic now! We can't handle liars — he should have just come clean back in December when he figured it all out… not wait until Jan. 16th!!
He claims he felt he had no choice but to lie to the media and to the public after learning his online girlfriend, that died of leukemia and inspired him to win football games, actually did not exist.
Here's what Manti said during the taping:

On the other hand, it's kinda HIGHlarious and leaves the door open to some AH-MAZING spoofs — especially if he's known all along. If he's part of the hoax, it's totally fair game! Ha!
Check out FunnyOrDie's crack at it (above), as they've kindly uploaded Manti's eHarmony video.
This will just have to hold us over until Couric gets her paws on him!
Manti Te'o, if you've been sleeping for a month, has fallen victim to a cruel online hoax that resembles that Catfish movie that came out a while back. Whoever it was led him to believe he was in a relationship that ended with his 'girlfriend' dying of leukemia — the pain from which he used on the field, letting everyone know what drove him — only to find out that she never existed.
Now, everyone is wondering how someone can be duped for so long… and if he was actually duped at all.
Before you all go nuts saying Manti Te'o knew the whole time and went along for publicity, first hear his reasons.
So, according to sources very close to Te'o, he knew that Lennay Kekua never existed on December 6th — which is 20 days before he told his coaches. He didn't do it to ride the publicity, but instead did it to
