Happy Fat Tuesday!
Mardi Gras is officially in full swing and funnyman Will Ferrell was on hand in NOLA to kick off the parade by being this year's grand marshall, the King of the Bacchus parade.
Ferrell waved on the huge crowd of fans who lined up early to get a glimpse of Ferrell wearing the traditional king's robes and crown.
Declaring New Orleans "arguably the best city in the world," he threw beads to lucky parade attendees. And, we're sure a few ladies showed off the goods! Ha!
Ferrell's been in town for three months filming his new movie The Campaign with Zach Galifianakis.
What a great way to finish his time in The Big Easy!

After filming a PSA (above) with Susan Sarandon, Rebecca Romijn, Pete Wentz, etc., the girl who just wants to have fun just wanted to address something very serious!
And did she!!! Cyndi Lauper nearly wrote an essay on the importance of loving youth as they are while addressing some pretty horrendous statistics.
We've attached her entire article in whole for your convenience:

The Tasmanian House of Assembly has a passed a motion to call upon the federal government for marriage equality.
Greens leader Nick McKim insists he will push for state legislation if the Federal Government does not comply by the end of the year.
He states:

If you watch the video above, you can see Shelley get into it with a homophobic protestor at Mardi Gras.
She spits in his face (not the classiest moment but a classic BGC move), but he continues yelling at her, calling her a whore (reeaallll Christian).
Afterward, one of Shelley's "best friends" in the house, Tasha goes on her own homophobic rant:
I've never met anyone in my life who flaunts their gayness as much as Shelly does. It's disgusting and wrong.
But then, after suffering an audience backlash, Tasha

Glad to see the Silver Fox smiling again!
Anderson Cooper tweeted this photo of him and fellow Grand Master Kelly Ripa standing on the Endymion float, that was featured in the Mardi Gras parade on Sunday.
Despite concerns about the weather conditions in New Orleans, Andy assured his fans that he and Kelly will "definitely be there Sunday for the parade," adding, "We wouldn't miss it for the world!"
