That's SEVEN MILES DEEP!!!

James Cameron has been wanting to literally hit rock bottom his entire life, and he did it!! He finally did it!!

Plunging 500ft/min in the Deepsea Challenger, the Oscar-winning director found what he describes an "alien, very lunar and desolate" world at the Earth's lowest point.

It took him 2.5 hours to get down there. Then he enjoyed three hours of crazy exploration before a hydraulic leak caused him to ascend sooner than expected. On his way back up, he experienced "one heckuva ride" for 70 minutes!

Watch the exciting video above to get in on the non-fiction action URself!!!

James Cameron To Dive To The Deepest Part Of The Ocean

James Cameron is not only an amazingly talented filmmaker, he's also crazy.

He is planning to dive to the bottom of the Mariana trench, the deepest point in the whole ocean.

And no, he's not funding some adrenaline-junkie scientists, he's going himself.

He wants to find out what's at the bottom of the 36,000ft deep trench. That's over 6.8 miles down!!

The pressure there is over 8 tons per square inch.

That's why he's crazy. Best of luck, Mr. Cameron.
