He's got that new artist smell now!!!
Being an independent artist and all, Chance The Rapper has no record label to thank for all his success.
But when the rapper took home his first Grammy award on Sunday night, he had a much more powerful force to express his gratitude to — the big man upstairs!
Lil' Chano beat out some tough competition to take home the trophy for Best New Artist, including Kelsea Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Maren Morris, and Anderson .Paak!
When the 23-year-old got on stage, he spoke on what it really meant to be "independent" — and even when he started to get played off, the dramatic music just made the end of his speech that much more powerful!
Ch-ch-check out his speech (above)!
