We think can get behind this! Especially because they're not trying to butcher it with a shiteous CGI revamp!
The beloved cartoon classic Looney Tunes is getting a new, updated series very much in the vein of the original, called The Looney Tunes Show!
The 26-episode series, premiering on Cartoon Network in the fall, will feature five to six minute shorts featuring all the original characters - including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, etc. - and intercut with "Merry Melodies" and two minute Road Runner chases! The show will also rely on the wise-cracking jokes and slapstick humor found in the old cartoons!
Peter Roth, president of Warner Brothers Television, says:
“We talked at great length about whether we were audacious enough to take on such iconic treasures. It’s both costly and risky, but I think an extraordinary opportunity. We want to reinvigorate the brand with the best possible execution — high-quality, high-end state of the art.”
We think they're on the right track!
What do U think?? Will this version of the Looney Tunes catch on with the new generation of kids??
