Well, this is unfortunate!

Despite mentoring contestants Rebecca Ferguson, Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd during their time on The X Factor, Cheryl Cole has reportedly failed to get in touch with any of them since the reality competition ended two months ago!

Former contestant Mary Byrne recently revealed that although Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Dannii Minogue have all been corresponding regularly with their proteges, she seems to know for certain that the pop star has yet to make an effort to do the same!

She explains:

"Matt has heard from Dannii, I'm sure the boys have been in touch with Simon, but I know Cheryl hasn't been in touch with any of the girls."

Too bad! We're sure there's a reasonable explanation, though!

With Chezza's plans to come stateside and possibly join the US version of the show, we imagine that she is ridiculously busy!

But we would like to think that she could make the effort to pick up the phone and at least CHECK IN with the girls! She seemed to have such a nice relationship with them all!

Sad.

It makes sense to us that he'd want to switch things up!

After this past weekend's semi-finals round of X Factor, in which in a twist move, the judges picked from the bottom two after a sing-off to determine who would be eliminated - instead of the normal public vote - fans of contestant Mary Byrne have lashed out at Simon Cowell because they believe that he fixed the results so Cher Lloyd would move on!

However, he's now speaking out against the claims, and calls them "nonsense!"

He continues:

"We haven't done anything wrong. All the artists knew there was going to be a sing-off. Mary and Cher were told last Monday to prepare a song for a sing-off if necessary. I genuinely do not know the exact placings of the artists - who is top and who is bottom. I never know those details until the series is finished. There has always been a sing-off when there are five people left in the competition. This is a lot of nonsense about nothing. I'm always looking for ways to keep the show fresh. We knew we wanted four people in the final this year and I don't want to be accused of doing the same thing. It's more exciting and gives more people a chance to win it. That decision was made long ago - five or six weeks ago. It adds to the mystery and audience love the surprise element. We are doing our best to change the format. It's more exciting to have a sing off."

We agree! And he's it's not like he alone voted Mary out!

Dannii and Chezza both went with Cher, too!

And even Mary has no hard feelings about the surprise twist - and subsequent elimination - because she has a record in the works!

She reveals:

"When I was leaving the show, Simon came over and said, 'I'm really sorry that you've got to go but you've got your album.' I can't wait to sit down and start working on it. I'm like a two-year-old, I'm so excited. I was told on Saturday, because we were given our 'save me' songs. I got a bit stunned at first because I did think it was just public votes. I do feel sorry for my fans because they voted in their thousands, God bless them. I knew then my days were numbered. I hope I would have stayed in. The public have supported me right the way through, and if they had done it that way, it would have been great - but that didn't happen."

It's all right, bb! It's an accomplishment to make it as far as you did!

And we're very excited to hear what kind of stuff makes it onto your album!

Fans will be fans, though! And there always will be someone who cries foul when things don't go the way they think that they should have!

Oh no! This would be such a shame!

X Factor contestants Mary Byrne and Matt Cardle are reportedly both in danger of having to pull out of the competition during the semi-final round because they're both struggling with vocal problems!

A source explains:

"Matt is putting a brave face on things but his voice is in bad shape and he could miss the semi-final. He's really low because he's desperate to be at his best for such a vital show. Mary and Matt have both been struggling with their throats for the past week. Matt was advised to rest his voice by doctors and so he didn't perform. Mary did sing but complained of a bad throat afterwards. At the moment we're hoping they will be fit to appear but we just don't know. It will be a disaster if they have to pull out."

Awful! We seriously hope that these two can take every chance they can until Saturday to get themselves rested!

We wouldn't want to see any have to back down at this point - they've worked so SO hard!

We think this woman needs to calm down!

X Factor contestant Katie Waissel's mother, Diana, is reportedly furious that finalist, Mary Byrne, is getting plugged unfairly because of her employment at Tesco supermarket, which has promotional deals already in place with the reality competition!

According to reports, the supermarket chain sent e-mails out to its 300,000 employees to vote for Byrne, which Waissel thinks is unfair!

She explains:

‘It’s not fair – 300,000 is a lot of supporters. If it goes by that, it means Mary’s going to win.’

Oh, boo-hoo! It's not like the employees are being FORCED to vote!

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Tesco counters:

‘She has reached The X Factor finals on her talent alone. Any suggestions that the references have anything to do with a supply deal for the X Magazine are absolutely untrue.’

Exactly! We think it's lovely that Tesco is being so supportive of Mary!

And we sincerely hope that some people choose to focus on the COMPETITION and their performances, instead of getting wrapped up focusing on potential disadvantages and whining to the press about it!
