We've heard Melanie C belt out a song that Andrew Lloyd Weber wrote for Jesus' favorite gal pal, but now we get to see what the Spice Girl will look when she plays her on stage this fall.

Forget a breakup, Mel C is moving forward…and movin' on up, at that!

It seems as though the Spice Girl proved to be SUCH a hit as a mentor on the UK ITV show, Superstar, that she’s been signed on to be a full-time judge!

Mel C will sit alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dawn French and Jason Donovan on the judging panel, as they try to find who will play Jesus in the musical, Jesus Christ Superstar!

The songstress stated:

“I am absolutely delighted. It’s been an incredible experience so far and I just can’t wait for the nation to decide who will be playing Jesus in the amazing arena tour of the production.”

Not only will Sporty Spice serve as a judge, but she’ll also be STARRING in the production itself, taking on the role of Mary Magdalene!

Sounds to us like the show is turning into Jesus Chisholm Superstar! Ha!

Oh, wow! We didn't think it was possible, but we're even MORE excited to see this now!

Lady GaGa has received quite a bit of flack from various Catholic groups about her music video of her latest single, Judas - WITHOUT IT EVEN BEING RELEASED, MIGHT WE ADD - but the singer recently opened up about what to actually expect when it premieres on American Idol next week, and she wants everyone to know that neither the song nor the video are supposed to be blasphemous, but quite the opposite - a 'metaphor for forgiveness!'

She explains:

Well the video, in essence, suggests that [pauses] forgiveness and betrayal are hand in hand and that… how do I say this? The video puts destiny above all things and postures that the mistakes in your life are in fact not mistakes at all, they are just part of your overarching potential and your destiny.

I want to allow the video to speak for itself but I will say that the theme of the video and the way that I wanted to aesthetically portray the story was as a motorcycle Fellini movie where the apostles are revolutionaries in a modern-day Jerusalem. And I play Mary Magdalene leading them into the town where we meet Jesus and I will leave the rest for you to see. But it's meant more to celebrate faith than it is to challenge it.

Such a wonderful message - underneath a really effing RAD idea!

It sounds absolutely fascinating!

And yes, we're very much looking forward to seeing it for ourselves!

Let the cultural baptism commence!

Seriously!?

The Catholic Church is going after Lady GaGa over her upcoming music video for Judas, where she will reportedly portray Mary Magdalene.

President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, Bill Donahue, blasted GaGa, calling the video a "stunt." He added:

"People have real talent, and then there is Lady Gaga. I find Gaga to be increasingly irrelevant. Is this the only way to jet up her performance? This isn’t random, we are getting closer to Holy Week and Easter."

Oh, please. He couldn't be further from the truth!

Leave GaGa alone and focus your time and energy on more worthwhile causes.
