CT School Elementary Shooting: The Scene Is Now Secure

We can't even begin to understand why something like this would happen.

In a press conference regarding the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School Lt. Paul Vance of the CT state police released a very small piece of good news for the citizens of Newtown, CT:

The scene is now secure. The public is not in danger."

However, though several reports are alleging close to 30 fatalities have been counted, Vance did not confirm how many people have been killed, but said:

"There were several fatalities at the scene. The shooter is dead inside the building."

A few sources are reporting that the shooter was a 20-year-old man with ties to the schools:

"The official said that a gun used in the attacks is a .223-caliber rifle. The official also said that New Jersey state police are searching a location in that state in connection with the shootings, said by an official in Connecticut to have left 27 dead, including 18 children."

Will continue to keep you updated as new reports are released.

We can not imagine the tragedy the parents and family members of the victims are feeling. We give them our deepest sympathy.

Dark Knight Shooting Largest In U.S. History

Filed under: Film FlickersLegal MattersR.I.P.Sad Sad

Sick, sick, sick! We're just so sick over this whole thing!

As you probably know by now, 71 people were horrifically victimized early Friday morning at the Aurora, CO Century 16 movie theater, when James Holmes opened fire on movie goers who had stayed up late to catch the midnight screening of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

It has now come to light that with 12 fatalities and 59 injuries, this disgusting, senseless incident has gone down in history as the most extensive mass-shooting EVER in the United States.

While many details have emerged as to the who, what, when and where, the how and why are still very much unknown, especially since James supposedly entered the movie theatre through exit doors, which are generally locked from the outside.

Well, according to new reports, the gunman actually BOUGHT a ticket to the premiere and sat in the theater for a good 15 minutes before leaving through the designated exits to the back parking lot.

Upon exiting, James allegedly

91 Confirmed Dead In Oslo Attacks.

Such horrific and unnecessary loss of innocent life.

In light of yesterday's devastating bombing attacks and shooting spree in Oslo, Norway, authorities there have now confirmed that 91 have died, many of whom were teenagers at a youth camp.

As we've reported, the gunman was dressed as a police officer when he opened fire at the youth wing of Norway's ruling labor party.

The suspect is now being reported as Anders Behring Breivik (above), who is a member of an extreme-right group and deludes himself into believing that this means he's a "nationalist."

Police chief Svinung Sponheim said that according to internet postings by Breivik, he has "some political traits directed toward the right, and anti-Muslim views."

Awful. We can't even begin to imagine what would allow someone to be capable of such callous disregard for human life.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to all those in Norway and around the world who have been affected by this.

Tucson Hero To Spend Birthday At State Of The Union With Michelle Obama

obamas to honor tucson hero

What a lovely gesture to make for this brave, young man!

Daniel Hernandez Jr., an intern for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, will sit next to Michelle Obama at tomorrow's State of the Union, which happens to be on his birthday.

The young man showed SUCH bravery when he rushed to Congresswoman Gifford's aid during the mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona two weeks ago.

Here's what he had to say about his opportunity to attend the State of the Union on his birthday:

"I'm both honored and excited to have the opportunity to travel to our nation's Capitol for a once in a lifetime event. Also the chance to bring my father along for his first trip to Washington, D.C. The State of the Union is a pivotal moment because it is our opportunity to find where we are and where we will be going as a nation in this upcoming year."

We hope it's a wonderful trip, Daniel! You deserve it!

…And Happy Birthday in advance!
