Massage Therapist Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Patient During Session, Claims He 'Misread The Moment'
There's no happy ending anywhere to be found in this story…
A massage therapist from Fort Collins, Colo. has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a client during a session earlier this month.
Marcos Duran was arrested on Monday after an unidentified client claimed he touched her genitals during a gym appointment at 9:30 p.m. local time on April 11, and new court documents are shedding some light on the circumstances that led to the assault.
Apparently, the victim was too distraught to actually approach Marcos after the fact, so an undercover cop pretended to be the woman and proceeded to call the masseur. That's when Marcos claimed that on the night of the incident he "misread the moment" and believed the patient was flirting with him.
It is worth noting, however, that after being asked to stop, the 30-year-old did comply immediately.
If found guilty, Marcos could face up to six years in jail for sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
We're just glad the Colorado courts are handling this properly and are not victim blaming, which is — unfortunately — often how you'd see a case like this go down!
Stay safe out there, everyone.
