Jon Stewart was "stunned" to learn about the allegations against fellow comedian and good friend Louis C.K..

During his Today show interview on Tuesday, the former Daily Show host addressed the claims made by multiple women who say the Louie star masturbated in front of them — and looking back, Stewart thinks more could have been done to stop the stand up's perverted "compulsions."

Speaking to Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, the comedian explained:

"You know, you give your friends a benefit of the doubt. I've had friends who've had compulsions and who have done things — gambling or drinking or drugs — and we've lost some of them. Some of them have died. You always find yourself back to a moment of, 'Did I miss something? Could I have done more?' I think we all could have."

The usually quippy 54-year-old was completely somber while speaking on how C.K.'s actions are just one example of how the world of comedy has never been a great environment for women. He continued:

After receiving some criticism about the breadth of his budget, Feldman argued he will not only need money to finance the movie itself, but also for security and a team of lawyers to protect him from legal and death threats after its release.

The 46-year-old explained:

"If I were to go to the police, I would be the one who's getting sued. Henceforth, I need a team of lawyers, I need a team of security to be around me at all times to keep me safe so I can get this message done. I vow I will release every single name that I have any knowledge of, period."

He went on to say that he will not give up on trying to shine a light on the industry's darkest areas:

Megyn Kelly knows the art of the deal.

Earlier this year, it was rumored that the former Fox News anchor was being paid $18 million for her new daytime gig at NBC.

Sitting down with Matt Lauer, the political pundit denied ever having been accused of misconduct against women — until he was faced with the claims that ended his cable news career. He insisted:

"Not in 42 years. In 42 years, I've been in this business. I worked with 12 companies. Not one time did I have any interaction with HR, any complaints filed against me."

Earlier this year, it was reported that five women were paid a settlement of $13 million by the network for agreeing not to file lawsuits or speak publicly about the allegations against O'Reilly.

But the conservative commentator claims he knows nothing about Fox's "business decision" in paying off his accusers. He continued:
