Matt Lauer SPEAKS About Ann Curry's Today Show Firing! Was He Responsible?!

matt lauer today

It's no secret that The Today Show has pretty much been a disaster, behind-the-scenes and in the ratings alike, since Ann Curry was controversially sacked from the position of co-anchor last June, but finally, after all these months, Matt Lauer, otherwise known as the man long-rumored to be behind the decision to show her the door is speaking out about the entire ordeal!

And get this!

He's even admitting that it was all grossly mishandled!

However, don't get it twisted! He's not saying he was the one pushing for Curry's exit!

In fact, he was apparently even willing to resign, if NBC executives thought it would mean improvements in the ratings!

As he explains:

Ch-ch-check out her ravishing rendition of her sensational single Next to Me (above)!

ZOMG!! We knew this one was going to be a smash-hit!

Ahh, we live for her visits to America!!

Thanks for not holding a grudge over our little spat with King George III back in the 1700s, gurl!

Anchors Away! Ann Curry, Chris Cuomo & Diane Sawyer Are Causing A Stir!

Ann Curry Chris Cuomo Diane Sawyer Moves

The world of news is getting a shake up!

And it starts with many news fans’ sweetheart Ann Curry.

The former Today show cohost is still looking for a news program to call home despite rumors that CNN was trying to woo her.

It seems it isn’t so as new CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker is so Team Matt Lauer as a source revealed:

“Ann has been sainted because of what happened to her [on Today]. The fact is … she definitely can't carry a prime time show.”

Don’t say that about our Ann! She can do whatever she wants!

But at the end of the day, whether or not she can carry a show, it comes down to money as CNN would be unwilling to match her current hefty salary with NBC.

We’ve all known about Ann’s ongoing dramz forever now, but she ain’t the only one facing some change.

While CNN might not want Ann, they do have their eye locked on 20/20 co-anchor Chris Cuomo.

But don’t worry Ann, he wouldn't be stealing your job. CNN wants him for a morning show as a source explained:

Matt Lauer STILL Fighting To Get Rid Of Ann Curry!

Matt Lauer wants Ann Curry OFF of his network, but — it's okay, guys — this time he isn't being an a**hole!

After relegating her to a smaller role months ago, NBC now refuses to allow Ann out of her contract to pursue opportunities on other networks that aren't jerking her around.

Matt, for once, is coming to his old partner's defense!

He is disgusted his employers won't tear up her non-compete clause and allow her to take a sweet job at CNN.

Ann Curry Desperate To Ditch NBC, But Cranky Execs Have Her By Short Hairs!

Over it.

NBC. TODAY. 30 Rockafeller Center. Matt Lauer. Savannah Guthrie. Even dear old Al Roker.

Ann Curry is over all of it.

She's been betrayed, misled, and even demoted — and now she wants to move on with her life.

Unfortunately, her contract allows NBC to c***block her exit. Thus Ann is reduced to begging for permission from a network that screwed her over more times than she cares to count.

Matt Lauer And Ann Curry To Reconcile?! NBC Hopes So!

matt-lauer-ann-curry-public-lunch-reconciliation.jpg

Even though Matt Lauer wasn't the one who got the boot, his image has suffered the most from Ann Curry's dismissal.

While Matt did earn $25 million this year, the money wasn't enough to ease the emotional pain and damage to his image.

Matt's image has been so tainted that NBC has begged him to take a public lunch with Ann Curry in hopes of mending his persona and upping Today's suffering ratings.

Matt is STILL being constantly heckled on the streets of New York because of his behavior toward Ann and NBC is becoming desperate to show a kind of public unity between the two!

Matt would probably be up for it, seeing as his job is on the line!! We wouldn't be surpised if Ann told NBC to f*^% off though!

What goes around comes around!

Matt Lauer Depressed?! People Slinging Insults On The Street!

While we aren't thrilled by the way Matt Lauer reportedly treats his coworkers, it breaks our heart to hear that the Today show's former golden boy has turned into a tarnished, sorry mess!

Apparently, Mr.Lauer is super depressed because ever since the whole Ann Curry debacle, random strangers are constantly harassing him on the street.

One insider claims that people are yelling abuses like:
