Inferno Director Justifies Replacing Lindsay Lohan!

If she's not in your movie, why are you still talking to the press about her?!

Director Matthew Wilder, who is directing the Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno without Lindsay Lohan in the title role, is STILL using her as a means to promote his movie, and now backtracking on how 'committed' he once was to her involvement in the flick!

He says:

“I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation. We have not heard anything from Lindsay and her camp recently but we wish her and them well. I still think she has great talent and if she respects those gifts then she will go on to show people what she is capable of doing. We're scheduled to start filming in February now and are really looking forward to moving forward without any distractions.”

Meanwhile, he claims replacement Malin Alkerman "is sensitive and hard-working and I think it’s a great decision for our project."

How quickly his tune changes!

Yeah, we're sure he'll be giving LOTS more interviews regarding the project, but we're still skeptical to see if it ever makes it out of 'pre-production!'

Sorry, Lindsay! Malin Ackerman Is Linda Lovelace!

It's better off!

Since Lindsay Lohan is in rehab, Inferno director Matthew Wilder offered the part of Linda Lovelace to Malin Ackerman - and she's taking it!

Producer Chris Hanley said:

"Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion – and hers. For herself and her career in general it was really her decision to just focus on getting better psychologically.

Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task and we feel she has the talent to meet that challenge."

We wish her well! LiLo's sobriety is much more important than a film role.

Inferno Moving On Without Lindsay!!!

We're SO happy for her! This was the last thing she needed!

Although Inferno director Matthew Wilder claimed that he was waiting for Lindsay Lohan to get out of rehab to star in the Linda Lovelace biopic, he is officially moving on without her.

Wilder said:

"We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan. We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard.

We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her—and some other issues—have made it impossible for us to go forward."

Lilo is on the right track and we would hate to see this derail her!

The actress' rep added, "Lindsay is dedicated to her recovery and together they decided to move forward without her."

She made the right decision.

Lindsay To Be Replaced On Inferno?!

It wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to her!

Director Matthew Wilder has been waiting for Lindsay Lohan through her legal troubles and rehab to play porn star Linda Lovelace in Inferno, but he's beginning to realize that LiLo may not be up for starring in the film.

And it's not looking good for him considering she made no effort to see Wilder when she returned to Hollywood for the day last weekend.

Wilder said:

"I can confirm that we did not see Lindsay Lohan over the weekend. You know we have been through a lot with this project, and although she is still our number one choice - we do have a Plan B if she cannot film Inferno.

And actually we have had a great response from other people who really want the part too. But we will wait until Lindsay has fulfilled all of her rehab and court obligations to see if she will be able to take her place as we had originally planned."

He's still holding out hope to shoot Inferno as quickly as possible after Lindsay completes treatment at Betty Ford.

Don't do it, honey!!!

Stay In Rehab, Lindsay!

We've said it before and we'll say it again: this guys sounds like bad news!

Director Matthew Wilder, who has been attempting to film Inferno despite Lindsay Lohan's legal troubles, is once again speaking to the media, and now claims that the actress is attempting to get a work pass from the Betty Ford Center so she can film the Linda Lovelace biopic while she's still in rehab!

He says:

“Lindsay is happy and I have been sending her some films starring several actors that we would like to cast alongside her in our movie. She just received them so we are still waiting for her feedback but we really want her to be part of the whole experience even although she is not physically here in Los Angeles. Lindsay told me that she is working to get a work pass so that she can get out and meet us to discuss the project. Obviously, she would probably need some kind of monitor and I think that she feels cooped up sometimes which is understandable.”

Absolutely not!

If Wilder really had her well-being at heart - which we seriously doubt - he would be supportive of her treatment and ensure that she stay the full duration!

This man is clearly just trying to ca$h in on the media circus surrounding her life, just to get his movie in the press!

Please, Lindsay! Stay in rehab! It actually seems to be working this time, please don't compromise your health over this mooch!

What do U think?? Is Matthew Wilder trouble??

Inferno Director Plans To Wait For Lindsay Lohan

Director Plans To Wait For Lindsay Lohan to start inferno

Even if he has to wait FOREVER!

Okay, maybe not forever, but he's still willing to wait until after she gets out of the Betty Ford Clinic.

Matthew Wilder, the director of the yet-to-see-the-light-of-production flick Inferno, released an official statement, claiming he had no plans to abandon Lindsay Lohan as the lead in his movie. He explained that the studio would not be" replacing her with another person" and that they're planning on starting up as soon as Lindsay is ready. He explains:

"She's good and productive and thinking about life beyond [rehab]. I think she feels a little cooped up there, but she's okay."

We bet she is great now, considering she reportedly is flat broke and will take any job she can get! Bills don't pay themselves.

But is this really the best movie for her to be doing straight out a rehab? Just saying, a nice Disney comedy might be more her speed or perhaps an uplifting romcom joint.

Inferno Stands By Lindsay Lohan

Well at least she has a job when she leaves rehab!

Reports were surfacing that actress Sarah Scott would be replacing Lindsay Lohan in the lead role of Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, but producer Chris Hanley says that isn't true.

He revealed:

"The producers and director of Inferno, the story of Linda Lovelace, have been aware of certain media articles indicating there had been some alternative actors considered for the Lovelace role other than Lindsay Lohan.

"Lindsay's mother Dina Lohan called the director yesterday concerned that there was some truth to the statements. These stories are completely unfounded and untrue: the producers have been, and continue to be committed to Lindsay in this lead role and are confident that there is no actress that can achieve the dramatic level we require of this role other than Lindsay.

"That is why we suggested her in initial cast meetings, sought her interest, have worked with her on the character of this role creatively for some months, and are committed to Lindsay throughout the entire filmmaking process which includes satisfying a commitment to the courts at this time."

The production schedule is currently working around Lindsay's time in rehab with photography slated to start in November.

Director Matthew Wilder adds:

"The creative team behind Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story wishes to express our renewed support for Lindsay Lohan…We never considered recasting Inferno, and never would recast it. There is no actor more ideally suited to this role than Lindsay, and we are content to start production after she finishes what the court mandated.

"We hope that those who read these words will disregard the waves of fabrication and vicious personal abuse that have marked the reporting of this story, and join us in wishing the best for this extraordinary artist."

Nobody can play a porn star quite like Lindanity — and it appears her mother agrees!

So professional to have mommy make the call about a job!
