But will his on-screen wife follow suit? TBD.
Those who have stuck with Grey's Anatomy the last seven years have grown fond of Patrick Dempsey, but will soon have to learn to do without him. In his recent interview with Italian Vanity Fair, McDreamy confirms that the upcoming 8th season of Grey's will be his last. While he calls the show a "great part" of his life and leaving "bittersweet," he reveals that he "can't see [himself] doing it anymore."
In truth, it revitalized his career, but he's right - it's time for him to move on.
So, that's one. Including Ellen Pompeo, there are only four other original cast members remaining at Seattle Grace. As we recall, all of their contracts are up this season. Could we be seeing the last of Meredith & Cristina, Dr. Bailey and Alex as well? If they go, will the show last much longer anyway? And if they stay, but Patrick leaves, what will that mean for Meredith and Derek?!
So many questions that only Shonda Rhimes can answer!!! Dun, dun, dun!
What do U think? Personally, we'd like season eight to be it's last. They've had an amazing run and we'd love it if the show ended with as much of the original cast intact as possible. But then again, those who have joined the show in recent years have been really strong players. It'd be a shame to waste them. We're torn - what do U think???
