This year’s 19th Annual Canstruction Exhibition featured 26 gravity-defying sculptures from design and architecture firms.

Among the amazing sights were two large-scale replicas of Alexander McQueen’s famed shoes worn by Lady Gaga.

The design contest and food drive is taking place at the World Financial Center in New York City.

Among the other exhibits are sculptures created from cans of food which include Angry Birds, a QR Code, Titanic, a “Don’t Walk” sign, and the Brooklyn Bridge!

The free exhibition is open to the public through November 21st with the over 100,000 cans which used later being donated to local community food programs through City Harvest just in time for Thanksgiving.

Doctor's Warning: High Heels Cause Snapped Ligaments

high heels damaging womens feel

But they are so fierce!

Despite Lady GaGa's affinity for her McQueenadillos, not every lady can handle sky high heels. It turns out they can be hazardous to your health, even though footwear is only getting higher!

"We have entered a moment of heightened impracticality in footwear," said Elizabeth Semmelhack, author of Heights of Fashion: A History of the Elevated Shoe.

Heels may elongate legs and make women feel long and lean, but they also cause ankle injuries, hammertoes and severe pain.
Doctors know their patients will wear the torturous footwear anyway.

Podiatrist Dr. Martin Alongi said:

"It's partly why we have a job. I just figure women in their 20s are going to do it. If they take care of their feet all the other time, most people can get away with it. There's going to be an occasional person who injures themselves."

Despite the options of sandals, platforms, wedges and solid heels, many women just can't give them up - and they are paying for it!

President of the American Podiatric Medical Association Dr. Kathleen Stone advises against wearing heels higher than 2 inches.

She added:

"It's very difficult, not only on the foot, but the knees and low back. The way the shoes put pressure on the front part on your feet, it applies compression on your toes and irritation to the nerves in the toes."

Constant pressure on the feet can cause thickening of tissues around the nerves of the toes, which results in pain, stinging or numbness. Not only can the bones of the feet be damaged or broken, but doing vigorous activities in heels may overstretch ankle ligaments - or even worse, cause them to snap!

Scary! Take care of your tootsies, ladies.

Fresh off her 8 moon man wins at the VMAs, Lady GaGa landed in New York on Monday dressed to impress.

Gagita strutted her way through JFK still rocking her snakeskin McQueenadillos from the night before and an outfit reminiscent of her nude Lollapalooza get-up.

This Is A Terrible Idea!

lf_mcqueenadillo_e.jpg

Why would they ruin such an amazing thing!?

LF is coming out with their own version of Alexander McQueen's McQueenadillo and they are absolutely HEINOUS — and that's putting it lightly.

The fug shoes titled "Tribute" will be available in July with a portion of sales going to a charity in honor of the late designer.

Thoughts???

McQueen Loses Design Of The Year Award To An Art Student

Alexander McQueen's McQueenadillos were no match for Min-Kyu Choi's flat folding plug, which won this year's Design of the Year Award.

Choi says the design was inspired by carrying around a bulky plug while traveling. Not a bad invention if you ask us.

Chairman Anthony Gormley says of the winning design: "Thought-through, responsive and modest, the folding plug shows how intelligent, elegant and inventive design can make a difference to everyone's life."

However, McQueen did win the fashion category for his Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

Congrats to both!
