The leading cause of death among the homeless used to be AIDS.
Now a new study has found it's actually drug overdoses, usually from painkillers and heroin.
The study looked at homeless adults who were treated through the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program over a 5-year period.
The death rate from O.D.ing has tripled in the past 15 years!
The lead author of the study said:

This is a touchy subject. Obese people obviously need the same quality of care as non-obese people, but can we expect every hospital to provide the same level of service? What about hospitals in impoverished areas who may already be strapped for cash and can't afford to buy the larger beds, wheelchairs, etc.?
What do U think?
