She's all about the bass… and the rankings!
Meghan Trainor's first full album Title has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart! This chart takes into account traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums.
It was only released on January 13th, and had 238,000 equivalent units earned in that first week, according to Nielsen Music. Miz Trainor's first week saw 195,000 in pure album sales which is the largest since Justin Bieber's Believe: Acoustic in 2013.
Other female artists who have done this well had the help of TV publicity, like Susan Boyle, but Trainor's All About That Bass debuting over summer, and sitting at the top of the Billboard 100 chart for eight weeks was all of the hype that she needed.
Congrats to Meghan! We can't wait to see lots more success from her!
