She's been a busy lady in New York! And she's showing no signs of slowing down!

Demi Lovato recently made a moving speech on Thursday at The Jed Foundation's 13th Annual Gala event called The Brightest Night 2014.

The singer, who has been open about her struggles with mental illness, and who was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2010, was SO inspiring throughout the whole event which was held at the River Pavillion inside the Jacob Javitz Center.

In fact, this is something everyone should listen to.

There are ways for the brain to heal and change itself.

He was talking about neuroplasticity and how it can lead a person to regain control of one side of their body that was originally paralyzed in a stroke.

The brain is able to build new neural pathways to allow us to function normally, even after serious trauma.
