Sandy Hook Shooter Adam Lanza's Parents' Divorce Papers Show No Sign Of Mental Health Issues
While there is no doubt that Adam Lanza, the young man behind the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, was mentally ill, papers secured from his parents' divorce show no indication that anything was wrong… at least not four years ago.
Peter and Nancy Lanza filed for divorce in 2008 and in the documents, Peter agreed to pay Nancy increasing amounts of spousal support each year. In 2010, Peter paid almost $250,000.
But there is nothing in the papers that mentions their son's mental state.
Adam's mother did seem to know something was wrong with her child a year or so before the attack took place, as recent reports claim she talked about her fears at a bar she would occasionally patronize.
We just cannot begin to imagine what would drive someone to orchestrate such a calculated attack on the most innocent of humans.
We only pray that anyone who feels depressed, isolated, numb, angry, — even insane — seek help immediately, before something treatable and manageable turns into something violent.
