For those who haven't followed the story, in 2007, Amanda was just an innocent and naive college student studying abroad in Perugia, Italy when her housemate Meredith was brutally murdered. The student from London was stabbed multiple times and sexually assaulted in a vicious attack that left the otherwise peaceful city devastated.
Unfortunately for Amanda and her then-boyfriend Raffaelle Sollecito, the two were convicted in the court of public opinion despite forensic evidence directly linking a drifter named Rudy Guede to the murder.
While Rudy was sentenced to thirty years in October 2008 for the crime, Knox and Raffalle were also found guilty despite zero hard evidence tying them to the horrific act. It wasn't until 2011 that the duo's convictions were overturned — a decision which was re-reversed in 2014 only to be changed AGAIN in their favor last year!
