Truly heartbreaking.

Mike Starr, the Alice In Chains bass player who was tragically found dead yesterday, was reportedly mixing methadone and anxiety medications only hours before his passing.

According to his roommate, the musician was using methadone recently in an effort to get sober, but had also been taking anxiety meds to battle issues resulting from an arrest last month.

He reveals:

"Mike was a beautiful person who was fighting to stay sober…I am going to miss him greatly."

So unbelievably sad. We guess as hard as he tried, he never could overcome his addictions.

Our thoughts stay with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

This is awful.

Three-time world surfing champion Andy Irons was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Texas, and it is now reported that a bottle of Zolpidem, a powerful medicine for insomnia that contains methadone, was found next to the bed.

An autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause of death, but because there were no other signs of trauma, the pills are the likely candidate.

Irons leaves behind a wife, Lyndie, who is seven-months pregnant with the couple's first child.
