James Spader In Talks To Be The New Boss Of The Office

That's right. You heard us! James Spader is replacing Steve Carell< /del> Kathy Bates.

Gotcha! LOLZ!

Truth is, Kathy will be committed to her new show Harry's Law next fall and it will become impossible for her to return to The Office as Dunder Mifflin's CEO. That's why producers are courting James to take her spot, since he was so well recieved in this past season's finale.

We're happy for him … and we're not.

But only because we're dying to see who is replacing Michael Scott!!!! C'mon already!!!

Good-bye, Michael! Steve Carell Has Left The Office!

Filed under: TV NewsJohn KrasinskiSteve CarellSad Sad

And just like that, he's gone. Excuse us while we continue to silently weep.

Last night, Steve Carell made his final appearance on The Office as Michael Scott, and we think that the entire cast and crew involved in the production should be very proud of themselves for such a thoughtful, funny, and truly heartbreaking 50 minutes of television!

For those of you who have yet to see it, A) GO OUT AND WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY, and B) WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

The majority of the episode focused on Michael Scott's last day at Dunder Mifflin. Unbeknownst to the staff, he had scheduled his flight to Boulder - to be with his fiance, Holly Flax - a day earlier than anyone knew, as to avoid the difficulty of saying good-bye to his employees.

Of course, it was an easier feat said than done and by the end of the day, Jim had figured out what was going on, which ultimately led to a heartwrenching moment between the two men as they said good-bye and let each other know how appreciative they were of their time together.

The episode wrapped with Michael at the airport, having parted with everyone but Pam - who had been out of the office for the majority of the day, assuming that she would be able to say good-bye to him later - and finally, in respect to the 'mockumentary' style of the show, removing his mic pack and asking the 'camera crew' to let him know "if this thing ever actually airs."

As he walks away, Pam manages to get through security and, without even getting her shoes on, and they both have the opportunity to say good-bye to each other.

Other emotional moments included a very sweet exchange between Michael and Erin, Andy being entrusted with Michael's top ten clients despite his difficulties as a salesmen, and Dwight finally receiving a truly touching letter of recommendation from the boss he has idolized for seven seasons.

END SPOILERS.

Ugh. Even just reflecting back on it has us emotional!

Even if you have lost interest in the series - we're the first to admit that it's had some bumpy moments, especially in later seasons - we really suggest you check this one out!

The writing is top notch, and frankly, all of the actors out-do themselves here!

Such authentic, delicate performances (which frankly, may be because they were all really that emotional filming these last scenes with Steve Carell, but it only makes it that much more touching)!

We couldn't think of a better tribute to a man who took a HIGHlarious character and filled it, as well as the show itself, with so much heart for so long!

As cautiously optimistic as we are for the future of the show, we think everyone can agree that it just won't be the same without him!

Thanks for the memories, Steve, and for making us smile and laugh for so many years!

You will be missed!

Jim Carrey Will Also Be On Office Season Finale

Filed under: TV NewsJim CarreySteve CarellRicky Gervais

Jim Carrey On The Office

It's starting to feel like there will be more guest stars on the season finale of The Office than there will be of actual cast members! Ha!

Jim will be joining Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano and Catherine Tate as guest stars interviewing for Michael Scott's management position. (Which is an excellent explanation to have all the guest stars!)

Of course, depending on how strong the character is, we might actually love seeing Jim take over for Steve. We think he's a talented enough, funny enough guy to really pull it off. And he's got the star quality about him, so it'd be cool if he could suck it up and do a season of television at this point in his career just to make fans happy with what will probably be the final season!

The Office's hourlong Season 7 finale airs May 19!

Good-bye, Michael Scott! Promo For Steve Carell's Last Episode Of The Office!

We've been dreading this day for almost a year, and now it's finally upon us.

Check out the new preview for next week's two-hour episode of The Office, which will sadly be Steve Carell's swan song on the smash series (above)!

Looks as though they'll be honoring his time on the show without focusing too much on the laughs, which we think is for the better! Michael Scott needs a proper good-bye, as much as we hate to have to see him go!

Ugh. The kleenex are already coming out. This is so sad!

What do U think? Are U sad the end is finally here?

Will Ferrell began his four-ep arc as Deangelo Vickers, who will be taking over Michael's job….for now.

Watch Michael and Deangelo's HIGHlarious meeting (above). Too bad these two can't be together for the rest of the show's run.

What did U think of the new Dunder-Mifflin manager??

Steve Carell's Last Episode Of The Office Will Be Extended

Filed under: TV NewsSteve CarellSad Sad

Ugh. They're going to make this good-bye as drawn out and heartwrenching as possible, aren't they?

NBC has just announced that on the night of Steve Carell's final stint on The Office, which will air on the rapidly approaching April 28th, the comedy will be extended to a special, 50-minute farewell episode, from 9-9:50pm.

If there's a silver lining to this tragedy, it's that Parks & Recreation will also have a 50-minute episode, from 9:50-10:30pm, and 30 Rock will air from 10:30-11pm, but we imagine that most of that time will be spent for us sniffling into a tissue!

We can't believe it's almost time to say good-bye to Michael Scott!

Seriously, we're a lot more depressed than we thought that we'd be.

What do U think?? Are U sad to see him go??

Will Ferrell Opens Up About His Character On The Office!

Filed under: TV NewsSteve CarellWill Ferrell

will-ferrell-opens-up-his-character-on-the-office

Oh, boy! This is going to be nuts!

When The Office returns in a few weeks, Will Ferrell will be beginning his four-episode stint as Deangelo Vickers, the replacement of Michael Scott (played by Steve Carrell) and the actor recently opened up about the strange character, and how he'll fit into Michael's departure from the series!

He said:

"[The show's producers] Paul [Lieberstein] and Greg [Daniels] came to sit down with me and I just said, 'I love the show's writing so much that I just trust you guys - why don't you just take a stab at whatever you feel is a good fit?' From that first episode that I'm in, they created, in the style of The Office, this eccentric, bizarre character. Me and Michael Scott, we hit it off immediately. We're birds of the same feather. And then, in a very Michael Scott way, he slowly starts to resent me because everyone's just kissing up to me. Slowly, you see in my character that maybe I'm not as good as Michael Scott and am pretty much a weirdo. Everyone's looking at each other going, 'Oh no, we had it so good! We didn't even know it. We knew we had a friend in Michael Scott but we didn't realize, in his backwards way, what a good manager he was'."

LOLz! Nice!

Sounds about perfect for the brief arc - and the perfect foil for Michael, which will reinforce for the employees why they all love him so much!

And, of course, his exit will help pave the way for one of the many possible successors to become the new head of Dunder Mifflin!

But who shall it be?! Who do U think should replace Steve on The Office??
