First Community, And Now Cougar Town Gets Dropped From ABC Midseason Line-Up!

cougar-town-dropped-from-midseason-line-up

What on Earth is going on with these networks?!

NBC already devastated us by announcing their midseason line-up with no Community, and now, ABC has followed suit…and they seem to have dropped Cougar Town from the schedule!

No word on if it's being canceled or shelved, but coming instead are Good Christian Belle's, Work It, and The River!

Ugh. With the exception of the Kristin Chenoweth comedy, we have to ask again: WHY?! WHY?!

Why get rid of one of the better shows on TV right now?

Our heads are going to explode! WTF?!

Wow! They must feel pretty confident in this show to make this kind of decision so early!

NBC has just appointed its reality competition, The Voice, as next year's post-Super Bowl show next February!

According to the official press release:

NBC will broadcast a special hour-long episode of “The Voice” following the network’s exclusive coverage of Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5 (10-11 p.m. ET; time approximate). The announcements were made today by Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. “There is no better showcase on television than to follow the Super Bowl, and we believe ‘The Voice’ is deserving of such high-profile exposure,” said Greenblatt. “The attention grabbing blind audition phase of ‘The Voice’ has mass appeal and will fittingly team up with the biggest sporting event of the year.” "The Voice," featuring musician coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton is the 2010-11 season’s #1 new series in adults 18-49 and ranks behind only "American Idol" among all entertainment series on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW. To date, "The Voice" is averaging a 5.4 rating, 14 share in adults 18-49 and 12.0 million viewers overall. “The Voice” is a vocal competition series modeled after Holland's top-rated vocal talent discovery show, “The Voice of Holland.” The series is hosted by Carson Daly and features the musician coaches working through the various phases of the competition with only the most talented vocalists. The show’s second season will air midseason Mondays, 8-10 p.m. ET. “The Voice” is a presentation of Mark Burnett’s One Three Inc., Talpa Content USA, Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series is created by John de Mol, who will executive-produce along with Burnett, Audrey Morrissey and Stijn Bakkers.

Wowza! With numbers like that, we can't say we blame them!

And unscripted shows tend to do very well in that position, so we think by the time its second season is beginning to roll around by that time, people will be ITCHING to watch it!

Smart thinking, NBC!

What do U think?? Are U excited for an hour-long, post-Super Bowl episode of The Voice?

Fox Is Moving Idol To Midseason

Filed under: TV NewsPaula AbdulAmerican Idol

Is this wise?!

Although it once dominated Tuesday nights, Fox is moving American Idol to Wednesdays and Thursdays for midseason.

Thursdays are the most lucrative for advertising revenue, so the network is moving Fringe to Fridays in order to make room for Idol. Mostly, Idol is being used as a lead in on to Fox's new shows.

On Wednesday, Idol will begin at 8pm as the new show Human Target follows. And in April, Idol will be a lead in to Christian Slater's midseason comedy Breaking In.

But at it's Wednesday time slot, Idol will be in direct competition with Paula Abdul's CBS show, Live to Dance.

Dramaz!
