American Idol Just FIRED Executive Producers Nigel Lythgoe & Ken Warwick! Find Out WHY!

american idol producers nigel lythgoe ken warwick fired fox ratings judges nicki minaj mariah carey randy jackson

After a season of unacceptably low ratings, Fox is hellbent on reviving American Idol!!

Unfortunately, according to one source, that means canning executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick!

Both men helped produce AI's inaugural season in 2002, but a decade worth of dedication isn't worth much in the high-stakes world of network TV programming!

Especially when viewership is at an all-time LOW!

That's the lucrative game producers sign up for, though! If they preferred hugs and ice cream sandwiches to pink slips, they could've gotten a degree in continental philosophy!

So, Nigel and Ken are now jobless!!

Three of the show's judges departed, too, with the fourth — Keith Urban — reportedly still on his way out.

Even Fox's alternative programming guru Mike Darnell was shown the door!

What happens now?!

It's Official! Cheryl Cole CONFIRMED As Judge For American X Factor!

cheryl-cole-confirmed-as-american-x-factor-judge

Finally! It's about effing time!

Fox has JUST announced that Cheryl Cole will officially be joining Antonio "L.A." Reid and Simon Cowell on the judges panel of the American X Factor, and the threesome will begin touring the country to attend contestant auditions!

Simon Cowell says in a statement:

“I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat! Most importantly, this girl can spot talent.”

Oh, those two are always at each other! LOLz!

And Cole continues:

“I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of THE X FACTOR. I absolutely love it here in the U.K., and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special. I can’t wait to get started. I just can’t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me. He’s tried to beat me for three years in the U.K., and hasn’t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this.”

Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, agrees:

“Cheryl Cole has the whole THE X FACTOR package: She’s an incredibly talented artist and performer, as well as a style icon, and she has that special charisma that draws in fans around the world. Cheryl’s charm and chemistry with Simon have been a key part of the overwhelming success of ‘The X Factor’ in the U.K., and we can’t wait to welcome her to the U.S. on our air.”

And executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz concludes:

“As a young artist whose talent show discovery led to almost immediate stardom, Cheryl’s career exemplifies the promise of THE X FACTOR. Her empathy and passion for identifying and nurturing undiscovered talent has made her a huge hit with British audiences, and I have no doubt America will fall in love with her beauty, her accent and her incredible chemistry with Simon Cowell.”

Amazing! We have a good feeling about this decision!

Now hurry hope and secure that last judge! It's time, guys!

What do U think?? Who should take the final spot on the panel??

It's (Almost) Official! Simon Cowell Reveals Final Two Judges On The X Factor!

simon-cowell-reveals-judges-panel-for-the-x-factor

Wow! It's ACTUALLY happening!

And personally, we couldn't be more PSYCHED! It's like the best of both worlds combining for the PERFECT reality show!

There has been a massive amount of speculation regarding who will fill the remaining two spots left on the judges panel of the American reboot of Simon Cowell's smash UK series, The X Factor, and although the deals are STILL not finalized, the producer has finally revealed that he's settled on the already-announced Antonio "L.A." Reid, as well as (wait for it)…Cheryl Cole AND Paula Abdul!

That's right! PAULA EFFING ABDUL! We're freaking out!

SHE'S BACK!

According to Cowell, although the long-awaited announcement was a showcase of "complete and utter indecisiveness," he claims that Reid "was my No. 1 choice to sit alongside me on the show," and continues:

"First of all, it's like casting a dinner party. You’ve got to have people on the panel you get on well with. I never think about it as an American or British audience. I genuinely don’t. I think that’s what's happened on a lot of these shows now is it's almost like you’ve got to hire well known celebrities to be a judge. And with Cheryl, when I hired her initially, I'd only met her literally once when I offered her the job on [British] X Factor. I thought she was bright, cute, knew what she was talking about, ambitious. And you meet someone special a few times in your life.. And this girl is special. She's just got a great ability to communicate. Shes a great judge. She's smart. It's just a hunch. If people take to her like the British public did, I think she's going to do really well in America. And Fox was desperate to hire her. Mike Darnell and Peter Rice will tell you they wanted her all the time, I showed a tape to Mike Darnell two years ago of a clip I'd shot in England of Cheryl and he said there and then, 'I'd hire her now for Idol.' They absolutely fell in love with her. In a way, the deal, it was almost conditional on Cheryl having the gig. They were desperate for her. I've always wanted Paula. Always been very vocal about that. I missed her the second she left the show. Always loved working with her even though she can be a pain. And I've been consistent about this. I don’t know what it is about her, but I've always clicked with her. You just have to get that chemistry, and she's right. I've never found anyone better than her. I think there's a good chance it will be her. We've agreed that we would meet as many people as possible, and now we're reaching the deadline we've got to make the decision soon. But I think she's got a really good shot."

Granted, Abdul's deal has even started yet and Chezza's STILL isn't quite done, but we've heard it from his mouth, so we're going with it…and frankly, think that he might be on to something!

British audiences took very kindly to Cheryl when she joined X Factor in its fifth season, and we all know that a lot of American Idol's initial success came from Paula's shenanigans, so to combine the two along with Reid is a pretty smart move!

We just hope that this is the end of all the speculation! We're tired of having to guess who's going to take the spots!

Well done, Simon!

And if you're interested, check out which rumored artists Cowell actually considered for Paula and Cheryl's spots…AFTER THE JUMP!

Steven Tyler Drops An "F" Bomb On Idol!

Filed under: TV NewsMusic MinuteOops!Reality TV

steven-tyler-says-fuck-on-american-idol

Oopsie daisy! Ha!

He just can't be tamed!

On last night's episode of American Idol, judge Steven Tyler was apparently so overwhelmed with contestant Casey Abrams' cover of Maroon 5's Harder To Breathe that he couldn't stop himself from exclaiming, "You're so fucking great."

LOLz! Luckily, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe and Fox head of alternative programming Mike Darnell didn't seem to bothered, as they were there for the live taping and reportedly just laughed it off.

As they should! These things happen sometimes, and seeing as the word was used to praise someone's performance…oh well!

Thanks for keeping the show interesting boy!
