We're sure the Real Time host is hoping more for the former as he told Esquire he wanted to invite the alt-right sympathizer back on:

"I actually want to have him back. I don't think he would be that hard to bring around to a much more reasonable position."

Interesting position considering after the last time he was on, Maher wanted the credit for Milo losing all his positions (even though it was Larry Wilmore and not Maher himself who hilariously told him off).

Few people have fallen from grace quicker than Milo Yiannopoulos, the controversial conservative firebrand who lost a book deal, got himself disinvited from CPAC, and resigned from Breitbart.

What a whirlwind!

And while it was due to that shameful pedophilia video and other associated antics, it all comes back to a 16-year-old high school student in Canada who, as Vox describes, "decided Yiannopoulos was embraced much too closely by mainstream conservatives."

Milo Yiannopoulos Plays The Victim & Promises Villainous Vengeance During Press Conference Addressing Pedophilia Remarks!

It's been a rough past few days for Milo Yiannopoulos!

The far-right journalist built a career on making outlandish, provocative statements and being an overall troll. But the wind was knocked out of his sails due to his controversial remarks on pedophilia.

After an old interview surfaced featuring the provocateur condoning sexual relationships between 13-year-old boys and adult men, Milo lost his book deal with Simon & Schuster and even resigned as editor of conservative news outlet Breitbart.

But because the conservative isn't used to facing repercussions for talking out of his ass just to get a rise out of everyone, he decided to put on a little pity party press conference to set the record straight.

On Tuesday in New York City, the 33-year-old started off by revealing he was abused between the ages of 13-16. And apparently, that psychological blender was nothing compared to the past 48 hours, which he noted had been a "horrible and degrading experience."

(That makes sense considering his logic — Milo later said other things, like going bankrupt, are worse than getting sexually abused as a child.)

The professional troll has already had his gig as keynote speaker at CPAC and his book deal canceled. We'd heard Breitbart was considering dropping their not-so-golden boy over his comments, but now we've heard straight from the horse's mouth.

Speaking on the company's Sirius XM radio show Tuesday morning, Editor-In-Chief Alex Marlow said:

"It was something that was a total surprise to people in the Breitbart organization that there is video that surfaced that appeared to show him justifying sex between an adult and a minor, at least in certain circumstances which was very troubling and upsetting."

Oh, good. An understandable reaction. Buuuuuuut that's when Marlow started to justify it with context:
