Guard Cut From Royal Wedding…Because Of Facebook

guard cut from royal wedding due to facebook

Should have found another way to vent!

Scots guard Cameron Reilly will no longer be working the royal wedding after he complained about Kate Middleton on Facebook.

On his Fbook page, Reilly complained that during one of her visits to Prince William last month, Kate gave the guard "only a brief wave 'while she looked the opposite way.' " He also called her "stuck-up PinkyPoodle " and posed the question "am I not good enough for them!"

Here's what a Ministry of Defense spokesperson had to say about it:

“Respect for others is central to the Army’s Values and Standards and Equality and Diversity principles are reinforced throughout military training. We take any allegation of this nature extremely seriously and it will be investigated by his chain of command. In view of the nature of the allegation, it would not be appropriate for the individual to be on parade for the royal wedding.”

Hopefully Cameron learned his lesson. Can't just put anything on those Facebook pages! People are watching…

P.S. Be sure to watch Perez as he hosts with Nene Leakes "Will + Kate Forever," the only royal wedding special worth seeing, airing Friday, April 29th at 7pm/6c on Wedding Central and also at 9pm/8c on WE tv.

Buckingham Palace Guards May Get New Animal Friendly Hats

wenn1042391_e.jpg

On Thursday PETA and Stella McCartney met with the Ministry of Defense to propose a new faux fur hat for Palace guards.

PETA would like to see the bear fur hats replaced with Bear28, a plastic fiber technology that the animal rights group has been working on for years in order to meet the Ministry's repellency requirements.

Dan Matthews, VP of PETA, said the new hats would be a win-win situation for the MoD because they're cheaper and lighter than the current ones, not to mention "the bears will certainly be happier".

While that may be true, the Ministry isn't in any hurry to throw out the originals that have been worn since 1815. A spokeswoman for the MoD said:

"The MoD remains open to testing material that industry might offer us to asses whether a faux fur meets the requirements for a replacement bearskin hat material. So far industry has not been able to produce a suitable material to meet the Guards' requirements.

All bearskins used in the UK are sourced from Canada where bears are culled under the direction of the Canadian government to keep the bear population under control."

What do U think?

Should the Ministry of Defense replace the bearskin hats with faux fur?
