Looks like it's going to be ALL about impossible missions and tattooed girls this holiday weekend! Ha!

The first box office numbers have arrived for the start of the long weekend, and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol seems primed for the #1 spot!

According to some VERY preliminary numbers, here are the top five movies at the holiday weekend box office…so far:

Not a bad start AT ALL!

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol opened early in Imax theaters, and it definitely seems like that strategic move paid off!

The new MI flick has brought in $10.5 million domestically so far, and it's grossed a total of $14 million worldwide during it's Imax-only opening weekend! Wow!

Even though it only premiered on 425 screens last night, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol brought in an impressive $1.1 million for midnight showings…thanks largely to the new Dark Knight Rises preview.

Ummm….

Reports out of Mumbai this week are suggesting that Paramount Pictures paid a mere $600 bucks to boost Tom Cruise's ego. It seems not enough people were planning to show on Saturday in the city, where Tom was slated to promote his latest movie, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

So the studio shelled out $$$ to get some really enthusiastic fans!
